Will you or did you take a Babymoon?

Have any of you thought of taking a babymoon? If you are taking one, where are you going? What trimester will you be in?

Re: Will you or did you take a Babymoon?

  •  I'll go first!

I am thinking of taking my Hubby on a surprise vacation/babymoon for his 30th in September. I have pondered various locations, but I am leaning more towards Cabo. I would be in the third trimester and I heard you can't fly, is this true?

  • I think a babymoon is a great idea if it's been a while since your honeymoon, you don't plan on traveling anytime soon after baby, or if you just want an excuse for a vacation (and you're not too busy saving for baby).

Personally, I'm planning on taking it easy during the pregnancy and saving for a trip when I will need a well deserved break after baby, can hand baby to grandparents, and most importantly--have a cocktail or two at sunset! lol!

As for traveling in your 3rd trimester, you do need permission from your doctor ans some airlines require previous written concent, so I'd call first. That being said, if you're due at the end of Dec. and thinking of going early sept. you'll just barely be in the 3rd tri, so it would probably be fine (not that I'm an expert--just addicted to prego books ;)

    Hope this helps :)

  • We took ours last week. We went to Maui for a week. I was 21/22 weeks and was able to snorkel the whole time. I wanted to take it before I got too big and uncomfortable. Also there are really good deals going on in Hawaii. When we went, there was hardly anyone there. We are going to go camping next month and have a few road trips as well.
  • I sort of had a Babymoon. BIL got married in Kauai while I was pregnant and DH and I went for the wedding. I was 5 months pregnant when we went. It was so much fun!
  • Not sure.  I might be changing jobs so probably nothing extravagent.  I would love to do HI though!

  • We took a Babymoon and went camping for 7 days in Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey and Santa Cruz.  I was 20 weeks pregnant.

  • Flights are pretty affordable right now too! What a great idea :)
  • I wish I could afford a babymoon!!!! Finishing Devin's room is costing us a pretty penny at this point so we're not going anywhere!! I keep trying to talk the hubby into agreeing to take the baby out with us to the desert this year but he doesn't think it's a good idea. I'm going to keep working on that, I don't think I could go all winter without at least one desert trip!
  • Babymoon is a great idea!!  We got back three days ago from Kauai (2nd babymoon). It was so relaxing and our favorite island. The first babymoon was the end of June, to Italy.  It will probably be awhile before we are able to take a special trip alone. Not being able to drink alcohol was no big deal. Drink virgin cocktails and non-alcoholic beer.  My doctor told us not to fly pass 31 weeks. Enjoy the couple time now.
  • We went to Playa Del Carmen for a wedding, not really a baby moon, but it was fun. I was 30 weeks pregnant. Perfect belly for a bikini :)
  • We took a babymoon staycation when I was 32 weeks. We stayed at Paradise Point Resort in Mission Bay for a long weekend... we relaxed, got massages and had a coed baby shower on the beach in front of our room. It was the best thing ever!
