What are some of the strange baby names you would never consider naming your child?
My great-grandfather was named Hiram and my friend's was named Merwin -- too funny! Cletus, Gertrude, and food-related names are probably out for me too!
My FIL's name is Earl....I would never do that!! My Grandfather was Vincent and I wouldn't do that either. DH's grandma's name is Virginia and that's out too. So, if we go with a family name these won't be it!!
I have so many horrible names in my family!! They were Merielle (Me-ray), Pepiya, Harriet, Leticia, Hilda & Muriel. I loved all of these woman and CANNOT bring myself to name my child any of these names.
There are so many names that I would never name a child. Any name that ends in "lyn" (Kaitlyn, Ashlyn, etc.) drives me crazy. They remind me of stripper or porn star names. I know people love them, but that's just my opinion.
My DH's grandfather was named Moe. Will not name my son that.

Bertha, i just can't.... FIL is Chuck, I don't like it, MIL is Yvonne,I wouldn't use it..... my grandma Barbara isn't getting a namesake from me.... Helga, Olga are out... These aren't terrible names, just NMS
There are a ton of names we would never name our child. Of family names, George and Frederick are two definite no's, at least as first names. Of others, I'm not sure if these fit the definition of "strange," but I don't like Nevaeh, Aiden or any of the names that rhyme with it (Jayden, Braden, Caden, etc.) and "Mc" names (McKenna, McKenzie, etc.).
So many names that I wouldn't consider. Of family names: Willie Henry, Velma, Doxie, Bohuslav (he went by Jerry), Oscar, Joyce, Lawrence, Agnes, Patsy, Norma. And I'm dead set against any fad names and made up names/spellings.
There are a lot of strange family names in our family... I had a great uncle named Emmettcarroll. You can hardly beat that for strange. My late grandfather had an unusual Portguese name - Anibal. I would love to name a daughter after my Gram, but I don't think Marge is going to come back in style for a really long time.
My grandfather's name was Harold Jerome and he HATED it w/ a passion. His brothers where Chauncy and Percy. I had a friend in school whose father's name was Kermit. Another friends dads' name was Hobart.
I hate the name OLGA, OLIVIA, DAMIEN (creeps me out!) .. oh and CEASAR.. my OH actually likes Ceasar.. yuck. My nephews name was going to be TORK.. like torque wrench.. Wow. Instead they named him Kutter.. which isnt any better (at least in my book)!!!!
It's funny that some of these names others wouldn't consider are ones that I have considered -- or my friends have named their kids! For ex. ?Oscar, George, Henry, Chester, etc.
My great-grandmother (who died with horrible dimensia) was named Ophelia. ?OPHELIA! ?My CRAZY great-grandmother OPHELIA!! ?Sorry, but with the history of mental illness on both sides of our family, I think that would just be tempting fate. ?

Any random spellings - changing K's to C's and vice versa, random Y's, et all. And as someone else pointed out, just about any name ending in the lyn/en sounds are out (Aiden, Caiden, Ashlyn).
No making up names.
No smooshing two names together to make a new name.
LOL....It's Heaven spelled backwards and apparently getting to be very popular. DH cousin's name is Heaven..,. named from a romance novel and when she had her baby, named it Neveah...yes, after herself. We just roll our eyes whenever we hear the name.

You would have SO many Simpson's jokes it wouldn't be funny...OMG...not to mention, kids are mean (although...so are most adults)
This made me giggle.
My grandmother in TN had a large family these are her brother's names:

My grandfather's name was Harold Jerome and he HATED it w/ a passion. His brothers where Chauncy and Percy. I had a friend in school whose father's name was Kermit. Another friends dads' name was Hobart.
Um...no.
I know a little girl named Neveah (pronounced Neh-vay-yuh). Her parents named her that b/c it's "heaven" backwards.
Unfortunatley, this child does NOT act like she's sent from Heaven! ((cringe))
Didn't Michael Jackson name his kid Blanket?! HA!
Another celebrity named a kid Banjo and there was another that was like Inspektor Pilot or something!
Now those are some strange names.
OH! well that's much better but i'm still not naming my kid Neveah especially with a last name of Kneppar. Neveah Kneppar. can you imagine??
I hate the name OLGA, OLIVIA, DAMIEN (creeps me out!) .. oh and CEASAR.. my OH actually likes Ceasar.. yuck. My nephews name was going to be TORK.. like torque wrench.. Wow. Instead they named him Kutter.. which isnt any better (at least in my book)!!!!
There are a TON more that I do not like..
Kutter? I am so sorry for that poor boy.

??
My grandfather's name was Chesley, which I think is really cute for a little boy, but I'm so afraid people will think his name is Chester.
My husband worked in a school with some kids with interesting names.
Sha-teed (spelled shithead) and va-geena (spelled vagina).
Those poor children.
LOL! That is almost my PNV name. It's Neevoh...
Razzie (DH's grandpa) Delbert (DH's uncle) and Clyde (my stepdad)
I could go on and on...
