There was a question posted earlier this afternoon about how someone was afraid they may be leaking amniotic fluid and some people responded that they can do a test that is "not so fun".
I'm a tad concerned that there is a possibility that I may be leaking a bit of amniotic fluid because since yesterday I feel like me panties are wet all the time. I have a doc appointment on Thursday and will bring it up then...but I'm just curious what is done for those that have experienced it.
Re: What is the test for amniotic fluid?
I've had 3 of these tests done and whoever said they were "not so fun" has lost their mind if they're talking about the same test I had.
They take a yellow strip of paper and put it to your vagina. The strip will turn blue if it's amniotic fluid. Never hurt at all.

I know I am lurking 3rd tri prematurely, but I thought I would chime in as I also had the test and agree with PP - test was no biggie at all. I was worried about this too but was told by dr it would also feel like a constant trickling... its common to have lots of discharge when PG, so if you're just feeling wet, i wouldnt worry, but if you feel a constant trickling you may want to contact dr to be sure.
Not sure if were talking about the same test or tests I had a 4 part one first the strip if it turned a certain color, then something they put under a microscope, then I guess by just looking they can tell some how, and to triple check I had an ultra sound they divide your stomach into 4 and measure the fluid in each to make sure the levels are similar. None of them hurt at all.
The test I had seemed like a pap - q-tip up there, then put onto a paper strip.. the most painful part was that resident at the hospital doing it was a total hottie, ha ha..
I know, my doctor did an FFN test a couple weeks ago and he totally didn't tell me it was a dry speculum exam. He just did it and then said "hey, you did really good...didn't even flinch!". I wanted to punch him.
