Are you going to? I kind of don't see the point since they'll provide diapers there and then we'll go straight home when we're released. I guess we should have it with us in case something happens (car problems?) and we can't go straight home?
No we're not bringing it. I'm not worried about the car breaking down in the 15 minute drive home. And even if it did, why can't you just use the diapers the hospital gives you that you'd have in your hospital bag?

They give you about a million diapers to take home so I think you're safe in leaving it at home. Remember that you will be taking TONS more stuff home than you brought: flowers, presents, all the hospital stuff...and oh yeah, a baby.
We'll be bringing ours just in case.... I'm sure once it's actually packed, it will just stay in the car. For us, it's more about dealing with traffic, etc. to get home depending on when released.
i was going to bring it empty so that i can stock up on the goodies from the cart and throw them in there. Every mom i know says take everything- so i figured that was a good place to put it

from experience, bring as little as possible because you will leave there with tons of stuff.....visitors will bring gifts and flowers and you get a lot of stuff from the hospital too. When i had our DD, we needed 2 carts to get everything to the car and we only walked in with my suitcase (and the carseat came up the day we left).
I am, but I've got her going home outfit, plus a back up outfit (in case she poops or something on the original) in there. I know the hospital gives you stuff, but I'm not bringing a TON of crap, and will probably leave it in the car till we're about to go.
I'll be leaving mine at home. We live 10 minutes aways so we shouldn't need anything. Plus (like you said) you will have diapers and wipes from the hospital should you need them.
I did last time, and I will this time too. I live an hour away, so maybe that makes it different for me:) I liked having it, because I could put all the hospital "freebies" in it. Also, I was in the hospital for 3 days and at one point I really just wanted baby to be in the clothes/swaddling blankets, I had brought for her so it was nice having them. I am adding a couple of things that I didn't take last time: pacifier, Oval (or Kolic water), and wipes. The wipes they provide are the ones that you add water to and were a PITA at the time.
I am bringing one. We were told by the hospital during the tour to bring an empty diaper bag with the going home outfit in it. I guess you just fill it up with stuff you get at the hospital.
Apparently my hospital just uses gauze and water for wipes? So, someone told us to bring wipes. I thought I would bring everything just in case I don't like what they use.
Re: Bringing diaper bag to hospital?
I'd check with your hospital to make sure they give you this stuff just in case.
