Should we stay away from the pool?

K's stupid diaper rash is back, and it's bad. ?It's bleeding :( ?I wanted to head to the pool when my H gets back from his run, but now I'm worried that it will irritate his bottom more. I'm not missing out on some magical healing powers of chlorine, right? ?Do you think it would bother him? ?Or be a good distraction and tire him out?

  • I think chlorine on an open wound would sting, especially a rash.  I know I hate even showering after I get scrapes on my legs from soccer.  I can only imgaine how chlorine would feel on that.

  • The chlorine might actually help (but I really have no idea).  I just know that when I had poison ivy, mosquito bites or anything itchy it always seemed to clear up faster.  I think the chlorine dries it out.

But dint like I said I have no idea that is just a guess.  If I am wrong someone please let me know! (I am sure I didnt have to ask to be told) lol

  • I would also think that it might sting....

  • It would also depend on if it is a public or private pool.  Private pools don't have as much chlorine in them.  I have went swimming plenty of times with open sores and it didn't sting anymore than taking a shower would.  It actually might have felt better since its cooler water.

  • salt water pool?  that'd be great.  idk about chlorine.  what are you using on his rash?  we used cd-safe northern essence better (butt)er cream for Lu's yeast rash and it cleared it up.
