How to tell babysitter goodbye because of dog.

Okay, I love and trust our babysitter 100%.  She watches our 2 girls 3 days a week while I'm at work.  My issue is our youngest DD we just found out is allergic to dogs.  I don't want her to have to take medication just because she's around someone elses dog 3x's a week.  Our sitter is going on maternity leave the end of this month so I'm thinking when she comes back from maternity leave only 1 DD would go back to her house.

How do I tell her this and not totally piss her off?  I know I shouldn't care but I do.

Ugh, it's one of those days, I've got to get back to work.  I know, I'm being silly about this and I"ll just tell her I just really want to handle this in the best way possible.

TIA,

  • sounds like a more than reasonable reason to stop sending her. I would just explain the situation. sounds like the timing is good too. you are giving her enough notice.

just wondering ...why would you continue sending DD1 there? wouldnt' you just send both of them to the same provider together? ?It might be traumatic to be at different sitters (unless one is at the sitter and one in school or something). ?

    good luck. ?

  • Do you really think she is going to be "pissed" about this?  If it were me I would totally understand.  This isn't something you are chosing.  She is allergic to her dog, plain and simple.  You are also still keeping one of your kids with her so it's not as if you are pulling them because you don't like the care they are recieving.  She might be ok with it considering she'll have her own little one to care for when she comes back!
  • That is a very legit reason for pulling your DC out of daycare. She should understand, it's your child's health.

All of this! but let her know now as opposed to when she's out on leave.
