GD mamas - Biophysical Ultrasounds?

Had a 29 week ultrasound today - baby is measuring just fine. I am on fasting insulin for GD. Found out today that starting at 32 weeks they will do biophysical ultrasounds 2 times/week. Is anyone else having to do this?

I have biophysicals once a week and NST's twice a week to check on the baby.  It's a lot but its reassuring to see the LO doing well... Perfectly normal for GD moms!

I am not having them yet, but I was told that I will have them starting soon... as well as stress tests, etc.  I see the specialist next week, and my regular OB the week after, so hopefully I can get everything scheduled!

Wow -  that seems like a lot to me?  I have GD this time aroudn (just diagnosed this week) and had it with my 1st pg.  I was able to control it with diet, but I think I only had 2-3 ultrasounds between diagnosis (around 28 wks) and when I delivered (39 wks) TOTAL.

Do they only do this when you are on insulin?  I'm afraid I'm headed in this direction since my numbers have been all over the place.   I have my appt Monday and want to ask my OB...

I'm not on insulin and they monitor me 3x a week.  My doctor is very pro-active when it comes to GD.  I also get growth scans every two weeks and am being induced at exactly 37 weeks.

I guess all doctors are different...

this was the norm for DS, with hospital 'bedrest, I am having the BPP's once a week and the NST's 2x's a day, but that is more due to the PROM than the GD

I am having a BPP every week, since 30 weeks. I'm on a very small dose of glyburide, but that makes me "complicated high risk", whatever that means. No talk of NST's or anything though.
