My (almost) 14 month old wears size 3 usually. I think I noticed wide sizes in the infant section at Payless. The Robeez or fake Robeez at Target have elastic and seem wider than regular shoes - maybe those are something you could try too??
I didn't even think of Payless. Thank you. Are the Robeez really good? I think they're hideous and have a hard time getting over that, plus with no experience in baby accessories, I wasn't sure if it was a waste of money or something worth trying. I know really she doesn't need shoes, but she's "cruising" and likes to walk assisted when we are out. I'm not putting her down on a shopping center floor without proper footwear.
We had the fake Robeez from Target. I agree that a lot of them are strange looking, but I've seen a few cute ones. I like the shoes we've found at Payless, but I always make sure they easily bend. I don't want it to seem that DD is walking on solid blocks and has to stomp rather than walk! I found an adorable pair of flip flops there, but DD screamed when I put them on. I guess she doesn't like the thing between her toes. I was so disappointed!
It's sad your DD doesn't like flip flops! She will when she gets older (hopefully!). DD doesn't mind flip flops- thank goodness. They're the only thing that fit her right now!
Wow. My DS is barely nine months and is wearing a size 4 already! But he is a monster. I was really bummed cause I bought him a pair of Chucks size 3 that fit for about a month. I also tried a pair of flip flops from Payless on him- he screamed too.
Lily's feet are tiny- she just grew out of her 0-6 month shoes.
When learning to walk, bare feet are best, so when looking for a shoe you should look for one that imitates bare feet. ?That is why the Robeez are so popular- because they are soft and allow your LOs feet to develop correctly.
I just bought Lily a pair of PediPeds sandals- they are also highly recommended for this stage. ?
We have a pair of RileyRoos - they imitate barefoot walking and are really nice and flexible. They are also kind of wide. DD's feet are tiny, and the shoes fall off if I don't put thick socks on. She is in the smallest size - 3-6 months. I bought from https://www.tinysoles.com
