Babies on the Brain

Can I just spend the next 8 weeks in a swimming pool?

Today was the first day in months that my vagina didn't hurt, and the only time my feet weren't swollen was when I was in the pool.?

  • You'd get awfully prune-y if you stay in the pool for 8 weeks.  But if it makes you feel better, go for it.

  • absolutely! why not??

Just make sure you come out once in a while to eat...unless you can convince DH to bring you food in the pool. cause that would be perfect.?

  • Go for it.  I wanted to go swimming so badly by the time I was in 3rd tri.  Unfortunately we don't have a pool.  :(  I can't even imagine how much worse it would be if my due date had been in the summer.

We have a neighborhood pool which I will resort to when necessary (I work at the school my neighborhood feeds into which sucks), but luckily we have friends with a pool who are generous in sharing it. ?Today was the first weekend day that it was warm enough and not raining to actually get in, and it was pure heaven.?

Sounds heavenly! I say go for it.
  • I say you should go for it. I was in the pool today and it felt wonderful and I'm not even pg.?

I was born August 30, 1978 and my mother said she spent the last month in the bathtub for like 3 hours a day. Of course, I was born in Boston and she didn't have AC during the hottest summer on record in years. She also ate a lot of corn on the cob, but I don't think those are related. :)

Do it- I'll be doing the same thing!! I've been SO irritable lately, and DH finally dragged me to the gym for the inside pool because the pool in our development is still a little too cold for me. It was like an instant mood improvement and now he asks me every day if I want to go swimming, LOL.?

We go at the end of the evening to relax. I take a nice walk in the resistance river, play around in the water for an hour or so (floating, swimming, whatever I feel like doing that day), and then take a nice warm shower before I go home and crawl into bed. It's the only time I feel somewhat comfortable these days. The worst part is getting out of that pool!!?
  • My mom spent a bunch of time in the pool when she was pregnant with me too. Being in the bath/pool will equalize the pressure, that's probably why you felt so good. I say you stay in as much as you feel necessary!

Floating in a pool sounds much better than doing the last day of our garage sale...
