Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Should I wake up my 3 mo. old???

She's been going to bed at 6:30 - 7pm for the past 2 nights, but her last feeding was at 5:30.  I hate waking her up, but I don't want her to not get enough food. She's only in the 25th percentile in weight, so I don't want her losing an ounce. Should I wake her up to nurse??

  • i would only wake her if you know she'll go back to sleep and sleep well.  if you think she'll wake up and want to STAY awake, i'd let her sleep.

  • Has she always been 25th percentile?  Is she that in height too?  If so, then she's probably fine.  I would only wake her if she has dropped percentiles.   DS goes to bed an hour after he eats too and sttn, so it works for him.  Is she sttn?

  • If she's in the 25th %ile and NOT loosing any weight, I'd let her sleep. Go to bed too, if she gets hungry, don't worry, she'll wake up. Sleep is just as important as food and when you sleep, you burn less energy anyways. DS started sleeping from 7pm until about 4am when he was 2 1/2 months old. I'm glad I never woke him, I would be so mad if I ever broke him of such a GREAT habbit!
  • Well, last month she was in the 50th percentile, and the Dr. said she should gain some weight. I guess I'll go see if I can wake her, if she's compeletely out, I'll leave her alone.
