Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If you had an episiotomy, what degree was it (2nd, 3rd, etc) and

how long did it take you to heal?  Also, did you (or your DH) notice any difference in sex?

  • 4th degree tear.  One of the stitches had tore at my 2wk pp visit.  It was all healed by 6wk pp. but I was still sore for a few more weeks.  Didn't have sex until 9wk pp and it sucked (very painful)

  • 4th degree episiotomy.  :-(  I don't remember how long it took to heal.  I checked it out when I was 6 weeks PP and was horrified with how it looked.  I didn't check again.  It obviously healed up though--I just don't remember when it stopped hurting all of the time.

Sex hurt until about 6 months PP.  I think it was a combination of the episiotomy and BFing.  It still hurts sometimes, but I can ignore it for the most part.

4th degree. I was healed by 6 weeks, but it took a couple more to not be sore. And I still have issues that require surgery to repair

what issues do you have?  i also had a 4th deg

  • OMG!!!  All you 4th degreers out there...you are making me grateful for my c-section!  LOL.......yikes!!!
  • I had a 2nd degree and we did "it" at 7 weeks and it hurt.  This weekend was the 1st time we didn't have to use KY and it wasn't so painful.
  • 2nd degree midline episiotomy.

sex @ 7 wks pp.  it burned a little, but not bad.
