Might be a stupid question, but...

how do I stop pumping?  DD never latched on, so I was pumping and supplimenting with formula. However, I never really had enough milk to give to her at every feeding. Now I am lucky to get an ounce or two 2 or 3 times a day.. I would rather just stop all together then waste my time with a pump for 30 minutes considering she isn't even really getting anything out of it! So my question is... do I just stop? Will my breasts stop hurting and go back to normal on their own or is there some thing I should be doing?

    My OB told me to quit cold turkey, and to wear a tight bra for 48 hours.  He said to take pain killers for 48 hours if I needed them, bc those 2 days would be painful.

    I think I took Tylenol once....maybe.....it wasn't so bad.  The first couple days were uncomfortable, but nothing like what you just went through with labor/delivery. :0)  It wasn't bad for me at all.  GL!!!

    Thanks for the advice. My breast don't even really hurt that bad (I have not pumped all day) so I guess that means I that I really don't have much milk coming in anymore, kinda makes me sad cause she is only 3 weeks old. Better luck with the next one, I guess!  Thanks!

    Don't feel bad!!!  I had issues with BFing and stopped after 2 weeks.  So you outlasted me.  My boobs just weren't cooperating and I wasn't making enough to keep up with DS....and he would end up screaming, and I would  be crying....it was a nightmare for me.  Once I stopped, it was like a huge load was lifted off my shoulders!

    I still have a twinge of guilt every once in awhile, but then I remember how upset and unhappy I was while trying to BF, and I know I did the right thing.  You do what is best for you!!!  GL!
