we have the sport utility BOB and would like to buy the car seat adapter, but am wondering if anyone has used it with a Chicco keyfit? the website doesn't say its compatible, but they're so similar to the graco snugrides..
just wondered before I drop the $60 to find out!
TIA!
Re: BOB car seat adapter..
IDK, but the salesman at REI when I was buying mine was VERY adamant about this....that there are only a few carseats that work with it. I don't have one of the listed carseats...so I haven't used mine yet.
That being said, did you know that at 8 weeks, you can use the BOB for walking, IF you put the seat in the reclined position?? DS is 7 weeks now, so I'm excited we get to use it soon!! I don't know how old your LO is, but if you can wait 8 weeks, you don't need the carseat adapter.
at the time, the REI guy was just shrugging giving me the idk- and we hadn't bought a seat yet anyhow..
My LO is still an inside baby hopefully for a few more weeks, but I don't know that it will stay that way! Thanks for the info on the 8 weeks timeframe, we were pretty bummed that we'd have to wait till next summer to use ours.. I myself never run, I just like to take lazy walks so this is great news! my DH will have to wait until next year to run with the baby..
being that I couldn't run if my life depended on it, 8 months is long enough for this girl, but my H really wanted to be able to use it at some point this summer.. we only get about 3-4 months before snow flies around here so I am stoked that we can use it as a walker at 8 weeks! this is the one baby thing that my DH was super excited to get!
let me ask you one other thing since I don't have a LO just yet.. how many strollers do you have? the Chicco car seat is the whole travel system, then we rcv'd as a gift the Chicco smaller stroller and then the BOB we got ourselves... is this stroller overkill?
FWIW, I asked my pedi and she said I could run with DD (at 10 weeks) as long as we were on a sidewalk that was smooth and she was in the car seat.
I have 2 main strollers. A Snap and Go that the carseat sits in. And the BOB. I also have a cheap umbrella stroller for when he gets older.
I just see my closet storage getting smaller and smaller! these puppies are not small, and if we have another baby down the road, we might need a doubler.. decisions decisions! the smaller chicco one I really like for me, but its too small for my DH and he ends up kicking the wheels on the practice run..
we'll see how we do once LO arrives!
and thanks for all the replies! I appreciate it..
I emailed BOB and they said that the grooves on the bottom that the chicco are lacking is the problem.. I think we might get the adapter anyhow with the gift cards we have and give it a whirl..
