Babies: 0 - 3 Months

when did you move into 3-6 month clothes?

my little chunk is 12 lbs as of his 4 week appointment.  newborn stuff is definitely too small and i'm seeing some of my 0-3 already looking snug.  it's sad because he hasn't even worn half of it yet!

anyone move to 3-6 really fast?

also, i have a bunch of 3-6 greendog stuff.  can anyone give me an idea how it's sized?  average?  big?  small?

Re: when did you move into 3-6 month clothes?

  • I just moved into them last weekend. There's some stuff she still fits into, and there are some 3-6 that are still a little big (mostly Carter's stuff). Gerber onsies run a little small IMO.

  • Hmm...it must be different for everyone. Jackson is still wearing a few 3 month outfits, and he just moved into his 3-6 outfits a week or two ago. He'll be 5 months old next week.

  • DD is still wearing 0-3, but I've started putting her into a few 3-6 summer rompers when it's hot.  She's still a bit under 12lbs.

  • I think it was at 3 months exactly. DD was pretty much born into 3 months!!!
  • we've been in 3-6 months since he was 2 months old. My kids are both long though.

  • Agreed with pp on this. DD is 4.5 months and is still in 0-3 clothes. Some are finally getting a little snug, but that's it. We still have a few weeks before we have to move up.

  • Probably in the next couple of weeks.  He was in newborn stuff for 6 weeks so I figured he'd be in the 0-3 months stuff for a while but he has just shot up in weight.  Some brands are snug some are still big.  Going to sort out the stuff that is too tight this weekend so he can get some wear out fo the 0-3 stuff that still fits.  I am NOT going to buy as many 6month clothes lol.
  • Ds started wearing 0-3 at 1 mo. 3-6 at 2 mo. and now he is wearing 6-9 at 3 mo. He seems to be averaging about 4 weeks in every size right now.

    Around 13lbs at 2 months.

    W (02/2009), N (08/2012), and C (04/2014)
  • DS moved into 3-6 months last week so right at 3 months.  I think I may have waited a little long though because some of the rompers (Carter's) seem to fit him the same as his 3 month rompers.  But all of the onesies, shorts and pants are fitting him perfectly.

DD is starting to need 3-6 lengthwise, but can't really fill them out.  She doesn't really need sleepers though, so most of the 0-3 rompers are still fitting okay.
  • DD can't fit into her 0-3 onesies anymore...but some 3-6 are too long for her.

She can wear 0-3 pants b/c 3-6 are too long and/or the waist is too big.  3-6 shirts are fine for her..just started this last week. I think DD is between 11-12lbs now

  • i agree with some of the previous posts...gerber does run a bit small, but carter is a little more true to the sizes even after that first wash.  I think it's different for everyone, but my LO has been in 3-6 since he was 2months...if I buy anything for him to wear right now, i find myself buying only 6-9 months.

Also, he is just about to fit in some of his greendog shorts that are 6-9 months. HTH! GL!

  • i'm with you.  we have already moved into 3-6 months, especially carter's and gerber... might be going to 6 mo soon!  crazy.

ds was 11lbs, 13 oz at 4 weeks, 90th percentile for length (which i cannot explain.  i'm 5'4" and DH is 5'8")

baby gap seems to be sized pretty big... we're in 0-3 there.

  • Natalie is still in 0-3 and some 3, but very little 3-6 yet. She's still little.

Kate was in 3-6 by 6 weeks, I think.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
