    Bath? Every other night

Time? We start anywhere betwen 6:30-7:00pm

What do you do? Bath, lotion, PJs, nurse, rock with lights off and sound machine going.

any current challenges?: Our schedule has been crazy so we are getting her to bed later and she's overly tired.

Question- do I try CIO? Nope.

sleeping patterns: Sleeps from 7-4:00pm on average...sometimes until 5:30-6:30.

  • 5 months

    Every night

Start 6:45, she's normally in bed by 7:30

Bath, book, boob, bed : )

We just (hopefully) got over the 4 month wakeful period. She seriously didn't sleep for a whole month. I almost died. Now it's the challenge of dropping her middle of the night feedings. She still get ups twice to eat.

3.5 months is still a little young, we tried it at a little over 4 months and it really didn't work for us. I think it worked for maybe 2 or 3 nights but didn't work at all for naps.

She still gets up to eat twice and normally once more wanting to play. ?

Naps for the past three days have been great, nap #1-9:30, #2- 1:30 and #3 a short one around 4:30?

  • 4 months

Once a week if he's lucky.  lol

    7:00

When we start winding down for our older son around 7:00, I sit on the couch and nurse the baby while I read books.  He usually falls asleep during this nursing session.  He will wake an hour later - nurse again - and then I put him in the pac-n-play.

He sometimes wakes during the transfer to the pac-n-play and I end up having to hold him for a while.

No CIO.  I didn't try it with DS #1 until he was 7 months or so and I was horrible at sticking with it, so it was really ineffective.  I doubt we'll do it with #2.

He wakes every 2.5 hours to eat through the night.

He naps whenever it is quiet or when I stop moving long enough to hold him while he falls asleep.  He isn't a very good napper.

Bath? Every other night (unless extra sticky from formula)

    Time? 8:30-9PM

What do you do? Feed him, then lay him down. Sometimes swaddle. Now he is starting to just talk himself to sleep.

Any current challenges? Teething breaks up his sleep.

Question- do I try CIO? I feel no need for it at this time.

Sleeping patterns: DS wakes about 1-1:30 am for a few minutes. Eats then sleeps till 4:30am....on the dot.

  • DS's age ~ see siggy

Bath ~ just about every night

    Time ~ start routine around 7:30 - 8:00

What we do ~ bath, pj's, swaddle, bottle, bed

Current challenges ~ don't really have any at the moment

To answer your question your LO might be a little young for full blown CIO but I'm sure you can let him cry for a few minutes then go in to sooth him.  We do this with DS and it seems to work for us.  Once our DS is in his crib for bed, we don't pick him back up again if he fusses.  We will place our hand on his belly and gently rock him until he calms down and drifts off to sleep.

Sleeping patterns ~ Sleep from 8:30 - 3ish then 3:30 or so until about 5:30.

  • Nap ~ 9am - 1pm just about everyday, then 4pm - 6pm some days (less often recently)
  • DO's age: 5 months - boy

    Bath? Every night

Time? 9:30 sometimes around 9 if he's fussy!

What do you do? bath, bottle in a dark room, rock/sing to him until he's asleep

any current challenges? just trying to get him on a nap schedule! and trying to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning

Question- do I try CIO? i've only done it a couple times when i knew he didnt need anything and he was over tired...it lasted a minute and he was out!

sleeping patterns: since he was a month old, he sleeps from 10ish to 7:30am, plays in his crib with his feet and goes back to sleep until 8-8:30am.

naps: all over the place..he naps 2-3 hours ONLY if im holding him..so he usually only gets a couple 30-45 mins naps everyday!

What do you do? bath, lotion, story, bottle, bed

any current challenges?: I lucked out and got a great sleeper.

Question- do I try CIO? I would really wait a few more months, but like I said, DS is a good sleeper so I won't judge.

sleeping patterns: he sleeps from 8:30 to about 7, then another 2 or so

He's an ok napper.  He takes 3 or 4 45 min naps throughout the day.

  • 4 months 3 weeks - girl

bath every night (actually i shower with her)

    time: usually around 7:30ish

after the bath, her dad gives her massage with lotion and puts on PJ's then i nurse her to sleep in dark room with white noise on.

challenges: getting her to stay down. she will often wake up between 5-40 mins after being put down, and might go back down easily or it might take 4 tries to get her to stay down.  i blame the 4 month wakeful, she hasnt slept the same since that happened.  we cannot do the "drowsy but awake" thing, i have tried and she cries stronger and stronger and then is wide awake.

CIO - it's not for me, but sometimes i wish i could do it!  she's heavy... if you are going to do it though, you have to stick with it and be consistent, otherwise it's not worth it... (might want to wait till a little older).

sleeping: who the heck knows anymore.  sometimes sleeps 8pm-6 or 7am but with wakings around midnight and 3am or so.  (but it varies a LOT, the other day she was up at 5:30)...  i envy these people whose babies sleep long periods consistently... sigh

naps: we finally got on a bit of a schedule, sort of, but each nap is about 45 mins only.  she naps around 9 or 10am, 12 or 1pm, and 4pm.   again i envy people who have long nappers -- if i held DD she will sleep much longer but then i can't get anything done, so i insist on putting her down for naps.

DO's age: 4.5 months- girl Bath? 2x week, wash cloth wipe-up daily Time? 12am -ish (we work swing shifts so we have a later schedule and luckily DD is able to adapt to this so that we get some sleep too) What do you do? nursing usually does the trick, otherwise bouncing or walking around the house and darkness. any current challenges?: teething pain Question- do I try CIO? I would never encourage that...imo it's not teaching your LO that sleep time is a secure/happy time sleeping patterns: She sleeps from 12 am - 11am, naps at 12-1pm, 4-5 pm, 8-10pm DD naps ever 2 hours for 1-2 hours.
  • Age: 2 months - boy

    Bath: Every other night

Time: just moved it up to about 7:45.  Was 10 until today.  We'll see how this goes.

We do: bath every other night, swaddle, boob or bottle of breast milk and bed.

Challenges:  Still trying to figure out what time is best for putting him down, hence trying earlier tonight and getting him to fall asleep with the pacifier to sooth and replace his fingers.

He's too young for CIO, but we'll see where we are after the 4 month wakeful.  I am willing to try it if we are having issues.

Pattern the past week was sleep 10-2:30, eat at 2:30, up again 4-4:30, up again at 6 and up again at 8:15.  We'll see how/if it changes after starting everything earlier tonight. I would LOVE to get rid of that 4am waking.

  • Age: 5.5 months - girl

    Bath: Most nights

Time: start about 6:50; she's normally in bed asleep by 7:20-7:30 and sleeps until 5 or 6 am.

We do: bath, PJs, powder/lotion, bottle in the glider, bed

Challenges:  She is pretty squared away on night time sleep, but her naps are a mess.  We need to work on it w/ daycare.

We did CIO at 4 months, 2 weeks.  It worked well for us.

Naps are anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, mostly on the 30 minute variety.  She's exhausted by the end of the day!
