I saw in your post below that your H was diagnosed with MFI in November. Just curious- why did you guys start testing so early? Looks like you started TTC in July 08, got a BFP pretty early but then miscarried. Was there a reason you tested DH's sperm so early?
I hope I'm not being nosy, but I am starting to worry about DH and me since my doctor thought we'd be pregnant again by now. (we got pg on the first try but then miscarried). Thanks!

Hello Becky. I don't mind to answer - its a great question. Since we are both 37, we had been told from the get go to seek testing if we didn't have any luck after 6 months.... which would have been December. Well I had already gone in February 2008 (5 months before we were even TTC) to have a pre-natal work up and all of the relevant testing - including FSH and E2 and everything checked out. After the m/c, we just happened to dine out one night with a great friend of ours who is also a Doctor (not an OB or RE though) and upon learning about our m/c asked if DH had done any testing? I was like "No - should he?" and our Doctor friend told us that he absolutely should have an S/A, as conception was dependant upon both of us and just because I was ok didn't mean he was... I had never considered it. I was so worked up in keeping myself in shape - avoiding alcohol, caffeine and taking pre-natals since 6 months before even TTC - that I hadn't thought about getting DH checked out. Since we were told to wait 2 cycles post m/c before TTC again, we figured we could use our time wisely and get DH checked out. We got the referal and he went for the S/A. Results were horrific. He tested 3 times in a 5 month period and all were the same. All the while we continued to try. We had been told from the moment of his first S/A results that our best chances were with IVF. But we decided to continue to try on our own for another 5 months. We did, and we still didn't get lucky. It was obvious that we needed help. We are now in our 1st, and hopefully only, IVF cycle.
