3rd Trimester

Did/Do you have an aversion to chicken?

My Bradley Instructor said last night that it was typical of mothers who are having girls... we are team green so I love hearing and comparing OWT...Everything is of course 50/50 with me including people who guess based on my belly.

Anyone who knows what they are having find this to be true or false??

Re: Did/Do you have an aversion to chicken?

  • In the first half of my pregnancy I definitely had a strong aversion, but it has since gone away. I am having a girl!

I've never heard this in my life and I don't put any stock in OWTs, but I HATED chicken during my 1st and 2nd tri. Now I like it again.

  • i think that is one of the silliest pregnancy "rumors" I have ever heard!

almost every pg woman I know has had an aversion to chicken... boy or girl baby.

I could not even LOOK at chicken on TV without wanting to puke when i was pg with my son.... and again- this pg - it grosses me out- i can only eat it if it's chopped up really small in checken salad.... again- 2 more boys.

I still cannot have a plain chicken breast. I used to eat grilled chicken breast a number of nights a week. Now I can only eat chicken if it is in something (ie: salad, etc...).

Thats kinda funny... i actually had a small aversion to chicken as well- it had to be beef for me for a few months (in first tri)... i remember one night, i was out w/ friends and had buffalo wings...that was my first experience of aversion and then lasted a few months after that....

    I'm having  a girl too!  ;-)

  • I despise chicken. Yuck. Team green as well, so we shall see.

I always have an aversion to chicken at times - pregnant or not.
  • Almost all old wives tales are bogus, but they get it right about 50% of the time so people continue to believe them and propagate them.

I had a huge aversion to chicken and turkey until about 18-20 weeks (the first time I threw up was because my sister served rotisserie chicken for dinner. Just the smell of it in her house sent me over the edge.) I'm having a boy.

  • I had major chicken aversions in the first tri - totally over it now, though.

     I'm on Team Green:)

  • I did until around 20 or so weeks. it was awful (and we eat alot of grilled chicken and etc) so we didnt for a long time. ha I couldnt even think about it without getting sick. seriously. Its back to normal now though. and we are having a Girl!

  • I have had a strong aversion to chicken (except fried for some reason) and it still doesn't taste very good.  I can now choke it down if it's in a casserole or something.  But baked chicken still sends me running to the bathroom.  And I'm having a boy!
  • For the first 20ish weeks of pregnancy I had a very strong aversion to chicken. I'm definitely having a boy!
