We live in a small apartment and will have to share our bedroom with the baby for a few months until we can get it into the office, which it will then be sharing with the computer. We aren't allowed to paint the walls or anything, so I'm really bummed that I can't NEST!!! DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to nest. He constantly reminds me that "the whole decorating-a-nursery-thing is just for you, anyways. The baby won't care what it looks like"
*sigh* its so frustrating!!

Re: am I the only one not decorating a nursery?? vent
I didn't with DD, and who knows about when we have another kid (but I LOVE lurking on this board!). We were living in a 1-bedroom apartment when DD was born. Admittedly, the bedroom was a large one. So what we wound up doing was giving DD a dedicated "wall" where her crib was, with her changing table/dresser next to it. I put up a few framed pieces of art I loved and made her a mobile to match them... we didn't buy a bedding set, I just got solid-covered sheets. That was it.
It was practical and it worked. Would I have loved to do a nursery? Yes. I hang out on this board because I hope by the time we have #2 I WILL be able to do one (and I just love seeing the cute rooms!).
When DD was 6 months we moved to a 2-bedroom place but even then I didn't decorate her room with a theme or anything. We moved to where we are now when she was 2.5 (have been here for 2 years) and this time I did do her room in a garden theme.
when you do get into the office - you could use the removeable wall decals to add some decoration.
like others have said as well - there is still bedding and other things that you can get to feel like you are decorating.
We do have a room for the nursery, but we rent our house and can't paint the walls. =( However, I'm still able to do a lot with accessories and the rug. I'm doing sort of a dusty blue/tan/brown palette. The blue is coming from the rug, the artwork (and mats), the bedding, and the cushions on the glider. The tan is coming from the rug and the curtains, and the brown is coming from the furniture and a large tree decal I'm putting up behind the crib. It's a drag not to be able to paint, but there's still lots you can do!
And my DH totally says the same thing about DS not caring how the room is decorated!
I own my house and am not "decorating" by your standards. The wall color and shades are neutrals and I'm not putting any decals on the walls. So, as far as anything we wouldn't be allowed to do as renters, well, I'm not doing it as an owner.
I don't really understand why you can't decorate a room with other items. The bedding, furniture and accessories we chose make the room very much a nursery.
I know how you feel. I live in a one bedroom and the baby will be here before our lease is up. I am still getting a bunch of decorations and stuff some ones our lease is up we can look for a two bedroom. The baby will be a little over 3 months by the time our lease is up. Which is perfect seeing as I want the baby close by during the first few months anyways.
