how does someone who got their BFP Friday night have an U/S appt today? I got my BFP Friday and can't get in for even an appt to have blood work until next monday...
If they've been treated for IF, or have risk factors that cause them to have a high-risk pregnancy, they'll more than likely get an expedited appointment and ultrasound.
Well, I think the only reason I had an u/s right away is because my past issues with recurring tubal pregnancies. They have to make sure for me right away so it doesn't become life threatening or make me lose a tube. Fun Stuff. And by the way Congrats!

When I got my BFP my first appt wasn't until 9.5 weeks! Between 8-10 weeks is when they schedule the first appt at my ob's office. And I didn't get an ultrasound or a heartbeat check either. I felt like I was making up my pregnancy for the longest time because the only verification I had that I was pregnant was no period and a positive pee stick. I was glad not to have any morning sickness but it was weird to be pregnant but not feel or look any different.

That I understand, because my aunt lost a tube and had 2 tubals, but if you got your BFP after the office closed Friday, we had a long weekend, how would you have an appt for today and be back already... Like I said.... maybe I just think everyone is fishy lol
There are medical reasons, like my friend got her BFP in the morning, and had an U/S at 4:30 that afternoon because she has a divided uterus, and they needed to find out if the baby was in the bigger portion or the smaller portion.
Myself, I got my BFP, and had to wait 20 weeks 3 days for first u/s, lol!

My first, I never had an u/s until 20 weeks. My second pregnancy, I had the usual routine check at 8 weeks, turned out it was a blighted ovum resulting in a m/c. Therefore, when I got pg 6 weeks after my m/c, they saw me ASAP for an u/s and blood tests. (Thankfully all was good and I got my little baby #2).
DS #3 diagnosed at birth with panhypopituitarism - lack of pituitary function. He is treated with thyroxine, hydrocortisone, growth hormone and testosterone.
I had a BFP and an u/s within a few days. I think a lot depends on where you live. When I hurt my back I was told there was a 3-6 wk wait for an MRI is Eau Claire. Here in the cities I saw my dr in the am and had an MRI later that night.
My friend who is TTC and has to have tons of tests and stuff run hardly ever sees her doctor. She mostly sees the NP of the office. She can call in the morning and be in by the afternoon with her. Maybe that's the situation. But I've lived in a small town before and it can take weeks-months to get in to see a particular doctor, so I see where the skepticism is coming from!! And congrats on you BFP!!
After 3 1/2 years of hope and prayers, our sweet baby girl is here!

Thanks!!! and I don't think it's a problem, this now gives her 4 under 3.
In my fiasco last weekend, I had a + pg test on Friday and an ultrasound on Monday. Of course, I had already been bleeding for a while and it was just a weird situation. At my last OB, the doctor did the early u/s, but at the one I just went to, they had a special u/s lady. I would imagine it's easier to get in for an u/s w/ an u/s lady than the doctor. I would imagine, unless she just didn't test for a long time, your friend won't see much....
Does your dr do the u/s? My clinic is at the hospital and the u/s is right down the hall and they always have openings. Maybe they are high risk or something.
Appointments are a different story...I had to wait 4 weeks after my lab pg test to get an appointment with the dr.
I have no idea what situation you're talking about (I'm guessing there is more to story), but i got a BFP Friday morning and was at my doctor's that Monday AM for blood tests and they did an u/s. I was 5 weeks at that point though.
