  • Mine has suddenly gotten more picky as well. Hoping it's a phase...he was such a voracious eater before...

  • My DD does pretty well at breakfast and lunch, but doesn't care for dinner much at all, nor do we feed her a bunch of snacks (since she usually eats a late lunch).  But man, she is getting picky with what she eats.  I can't get her to eat meat or chicken or most vegatables or fruits.
  • My DS was never a big eater (he's only about 25 lbs at 22 months), but lately DH and I have been having a much more difficult time getting him to eat. Last weekend, however, we discovered the secret: Ketchup. If we give him ketchup to dip his food in (pastas, veggies, breads, almost anything) he'll eat it! I'm not a fan of loading him full of ketchup, but right now if it's getting him to eat, it's ok with me.?

  • Emerson never ate baby food-ever.  She is the pickiest thing.  I've decided my job is to decide on when, where and what I server her and her job is to decide if, what, and how much she eats of it.

If I provide healthy meals that's all I can do.  I threw my hands up a long, long, long time ago.

  • Yes!  It is frustrating, but I agree with previous posters that all I can do is prepare good food for her on a regular schedule and let her decide what she wants to eat.

With DD, I do find it helps to make the portions look smaller.  For instance, if I make her a scrambled egg, I'll feed 1/2 of it to her in a bowl, and if she eats that, I'll keep adding a little bit more as she empties the bowl.  Also, I feed her smaller meals 4X a day.

Deceptively Delicious is a good book for getting calories into picky eaters.  I don't often have the energy to make these recipes, but DD really seems to like them.

someone mentioned that book a long time ago.  I agree with all of you you make decent food all you can do is give it if they dont want to eat i guess they will eventually.  I just bothers me how active he is how he cant be starving.
