NBR: NC spiders

OMG, I had no idea there were such wicked spiders down here in NC.  They are giving me the shakes.  There was a huge one in our mulch pile over the weekend that I swear I'm going to have nightmares over and there was another one in our garage, although smaller but still huge on WI terms.  I didn't have any bug spray so I had to use Kitchen Antibacterial cleaner to kill it.  I feel like I need a shower now.  Why didn't anyone tell me the bugs in NC were scarey??!!

    It was probably a wolf spider, which are harmless if it makes you feel any better.  But they are big and nasty!  I could tell you a really scary story about spiders, but I'm sure you don't want to hear it!

    Ooh, I hate spiders.  Were they wolf spiders?  The big, ugly brown ones?  Just thinking about them gives me the heebie jeebies!  I agree they are terrifying.  We also get some sort of crazy garden spider each summer.  They are also large, but they tend to hang out in webs instead of on the ground like wolf spiders do. 

    Ugh, I think I need a shower now too.  I'm going to have nightmares tonight!

    I think it might have been a wolf spider now that I look at photos of them online.  So gross!!!

    The one we saw over the weekend definitely wasn't though.  It was huge and black.

    Be careful!!!  It's a good thing to be able to identify the bad guys, that's for sure!  Just watch out for the Brown Recluse & Black Widow!

    Yes, we finally broke down and got an exterminator contract after living here for 3 years.  Now our house is virtually bug-free!  He even got rid of the black widow that we didn't know was living in our garage.

    That's scarey!  We actually do have a contract.  I'm thinking of calling them to let them know the two huge spiders I saw recently since they won't be out again for another 2 months.

    The other day my friend was telling me about water bugs.  She seriously has a phobia.  Now, I have never seen one of these things, so of course I had to google it.  Those things are HUGE!  I hope I continue not seeing them.
