Shower Woes

I didn't want to have a shower because I really hate to be the center of attention and it makes me really nervous and uncomfortable. I was under the impression that everyone was okay with this. Well over the weekend, I was at my SIL's house and discovered an invitation to my shower. I think its super sweet that my mom and sis are doing this. This is all well and good, except for the fact that the weekend it is scheduled for, my 5 best girl friends will be in California (yeah I cant go). In addition, I know my SIL's wont come because they are allergic to cats. I feel terrible for not being more grateful, but I'm afraid my shower will be super lame because there will only be like 5 people there. I guess I'll just suck it up and make the best of it...the people that come wont care if its small right?

    i understand the center of attention thing. but other than that, just be grateful people want to do something for you. and if you didn't want a shower, won't it be better that it's smaller and less crazy?

    Sometimes small showers can be a lot more fun than huge ones in my opinion...especially if you hate being center of attention!

    I think it's nice that they are having a shower for you, but I think I would be a little annoyed too since it seems like you made it clear you didn't want to have one.

    small showers are nice, and i think it will be better for you since you don't like being the center of attention. people are excited for your coming baby and just want to celebrate with you, try to enjoy! :)

    I totally get it. I would be it's not that you are ungrateful, but, if everyone knew you didn't want one and then went behind you back and did it anyway, the least they could do is make sure your best friends would be available and it would be a nice shower!

    They are just trying to do something nice for you.  If you don't like alot of attention then a small shower would probably be more comfy for you.  Enjoy it and don't stress.
