3rd Trimester

Am I really behind on things? help!

I still have to

-officially join our church so the baby can be baptized there (due in July hoping to have baptism in October)

-make an appt to meet pediatrician (know who we want, just haven't gone yet)

-schedule hospital tour

-pre register at hospital

-start uber biatching at BRU b/c our crib is back ordered w/ no end in sight (emailed customer service last week w/ no resolution)

yikes!  it seems like so much to do.  I keep thinking I can do some of this stuff when I go out on leave but what if I don't make it to leave????  (4 more weeks)

  • Meh, I think you're fine.

     I didn't meet with a pedi. until 36 weeks. I'm kindof a slacker though.

I think the most important thing to get done is the pre-registering at the hospital.

As far as the crib, did you get a pack n' play w/a bassinet feature? That is what we are using until the baby is a little bigger.

  • Don't stress, everything works out.  Things like joining a church and pre-registering at the hospital takes no time, so don't worry.

Check to see if you can register online.  Ask someone from the office to meet you after mass with the registration papers. (I'm assuming since you want the baby baptized so quickly, you go pretty regularly)

-make an appt to meet pediatrician (know who we want, just haven't gone yet)

My pedi didn't require a prenatal appointment.  We already knew who we wanted based on nurses in the practice and other parent reccommendations.  You just let the hospital know who the pedi is and they do the rest.

    -schedule hospital tour

    Not even necessary.

    -pre register at hospital

This one I would get on ASAP just in case.  Once again something you can probably do online.

-start uber biatching at BRU b/c our crib is back ordered w/ no end in sight (emailed customer service last week w/ no resolution)

Are you planning on putting LO in a crib right away?  If not, this proabably isn't a huge deal.

Deep breathe, it will all work out!!  GL!

  • You should be fine.  You can do all those things in a day if you need to, and you still have 7 weeks left.  I have less than 5 and still haven't done my BFing class, joined the church, done the hospital tour, etc....
  • Does everyone meet with a pedi before the give birth?

No one told me that. haha.

So when you meet with them, what do you say? You just ask them questions like an interview?

  • The one thing I would do soon is call the pedi that you want to use.  We knew which one we wanted and when I called 2-3 months ago they first told me she wasn't taking new patients.  They had to talk with the doctor first and call us back later to let us know she would expect the baby as a new patient.
