Sorry for the multitude of questions tonight... guess Im finally starting to nest and getting a little panicky!
So in trying to avoid buying too many gender neutral clothes, and trying to spread out the sizes of clothes I have, I have managed to only buy 4 newborn outfits! (Not counting the 10-15 plain white onesies I have).
I have a bunch of Target gift cards and want to buy a few things online. What would you recommend getting? I know once baby is born we will buy a ton of gender specific clothes so I dont want to go overboard. Thanks!
Re: Clothes for newborn- What do I need?
Specifically- should I get sleepers? Some pants to go with all the onesies I have? Long sleeved onesies?
Thanks ladies!

i think a couple of long sleeved options are a good idea. before DS was born, i didn't think i needed them, but unless it's 75+ out, you'll need long sleeves, and probably need them inside your house too...
you can always buy clothes and not wash/remove the tags just to have them in case you don't feel like running to target right after you push a watermelon out your hooha. i would also recommend getting nb and 0-3 months in case you have a gigundo baby. DS outgrew nb by about 2-3 weeks!
i would get 1 or 2 sleeveless sleepers. ?my baby really prefers to be naked all the time and now that it is summer she is often just in a diaper after 5 pm!
i would honestly wait to buy any clothes...it is likely you get a ton more after the birth-
the other thing is that it really depends on how much laundry you do. ?i do a load every other day so it is really pathetic how many clothes dd has vs. how much she needs!?
DS was swaddled for the first few weeks of his life. The only time I would put an outfit on him was if someone was coming over to see him (and sometimes even then I would just have him swaddled)
We were also team green and once people knew baby was a boy they bought us a lot of clothes. Most of the clothes were bigger sizes though - I think we might've gotten 1-2 NB things. The rest were 0-3 and up. I would probably just get a few more NB things - but nothing too fancy. Sleepers or since it's the summer just onesies are great for that age. The outfits are cute but a pain in the ass when they are just "blobs"
We also waiting and bought some clothes after DS was born. I wanted to get him boy things that we NB size even though he was in it such a short amount of time - and boy receiving blankets. We actually went to BRU when DS was only 3 days old because we needed some things we didn't realize. I'd save a lot of the gift cards for afterwards. You'll want to go crazy once you know the sex!
Wow - sorry this was so long.
Thank you all for your help!
Yea we definitely dont want to go crazy because I know that we (and our family) will want to buy a ton once we know what this little one is!

I liked the long sleeve onesies with the pullover for the hands. Mittens didn't stay on well. Pants are a pita for diaper changes. I prefer baby legs. Lisi legs on ebay stay on really well for a newborn.
How cool do you keep your house? You probably won't need pants or sleepers unless you keep the a/c pretty cold. DD wears onesies, dresses, or rompers. To sleep she wears a onesie and a Swaddle Me.
I would recommend a Swaddle Me. It helps her sleep since she was able to kick off regular swaddling blankets since she was born.
