Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Do you give your baby mango?

If so, when did you introduce it? Was it one of your first fruits or did you wait awhile?

  • I gave it to #1 under a year and she broke out like CRAZY!  I called the pedi and she told me that mango has a similar chemical make up as poision ivy, so I've decided to hold off with #2 just a bit longer... even though #1 looooooooved it.

  • my sister and mom have both had reactions to mango so my 2 year old still has yet to have it.  The other day she had an icee with some in it and was fine so I was thinking I may try it soon.

  • Ds has been eating mango for a long time. He didn't have any problems with it. I pureed it and then once he was able to eat finger foods I've been giving him chunks of it. It's one of his favorites.

  • DD just had it for the first time a few days ago and she LOVED it. The Beechnut mango is the perfect consistency for her.

  • I tried it a few weeks ago, and he really doesn't like it, either pureed or in small bits on his tray.  I'll keep trying!  :)
  • We started solids ~ 6 mths and it was one of his first fruits.  If I could PIP I would show u one of him devouring a whole mango last week.  That said I know there are some people allergic to mangos, especially the smaller 'hairy' ones.
