What types of things would you get on Craigslist?

I have said all along that I don't want to buy anything on Craigslist that has upholstery or cushions - I have visions of nests of bugs or long-dormant poo lurking in the stuffing.

But now I'm looking, and I'm so tempted by this glider someone is selling for $50. Not sure what I'm going to do. What would you buy/not buy on Craigslist?

I would feel comfortable buying a glider on CL. ?I would for sure be cleaning the cushions really, really well with tons of upholstery cleaner. ?

I do completely understand your concerns though. ?I found a Snoogle for $30 which includes the spare cover, and even though I can wash the cover as much as I want before I use it, I'm still worried about what might be on the actual pillow.

You could go look at it. You'd probably get a good or bad feeling based on the house and the people selling it.

Im actually looking to buy a crib mattress on CL for my mom's house. The baby won't be stay at my mom's house all that much so I can't justify spending full price on a mattress that is hardly going to get used.

After all the money we've spent to get pg we have to watch our pennies very carefully. I've already told my mother she's getting a used mattress and she's fine w/ that. She really can't complain since she doesn't have any money to go out and buy one.

That being said there are quiet a few items I would buy used. I'd just look at them very carefully before handing over any money.

I think the things I wouldn't feel comfortable buying is a crib, car seat (unless its just to be used w/ travel system and not in car) and a breast pump. I've seen bottles on there too which I wouldn't buy unless new in box.
