ClickyPoll: What do u say most to DC?

Just having one of those days where I feel like I'm saying the same thing over and over and wondered about you all![Poll]

Re: ClickyPoll: What do u say most to DC?

  • cool it.

(usually followed by 'you're driving momma crazy' under my breath!)

  • I forgot "leave the dog alone" he loves to piss off our Chihuahua and she growls and snaps at him. He laughs and thinks it's funny. Ugh.
  • Lately it's just "You're so cute!" or "I love you Logan"!

He's too little to do anything notty... thus far! :)

  • Typically "you're okay" or "you're fine." I have a really sensitive kiddo who gets even more sensitive when he doesn't nap well. He cries when I step out of the room, cries when I tell him no, cries when he falls down if he is too tired, etc. So I spend a good bit of my day trying to convince him that whatever just upset him really isn't the end of the world. :)

  • That's not for babies!

    (I really need to babyproof)

  • usually it's "gently, we pet the kitties gently", said while I pry her hands off his tail or from the death grip around his mid-section
  • lately its been "no hitting" and "gentle" (to the dog).  We are working on time outs to nip the hitting in the bud and he seems to be responding... but yes I've had one of those days too.
  • Sit down on the couch.
    Beds are for sleeping.
If you don't sit down/stop jumping you will have to get on the floor.
The dog doesn't like it when you pull his ears/stick your fingers in his nose.
Stop, please. (for a million other hings that don't fall in the above category.)
HARPER, SIT DOWN! (when she is about to fall off of the bed/couch for the reasons mentioned above)
  • Use your words.  That's b/c DD is in a whiny phase and although she can perfectly express herself (like when she told me tonight that she was drawing a cafe so we could all go to dinner and then began to describe her drawing to me), she will do this fake cry/whine to try and get something she wants.  So - "use your words" is my most frequent statement.

    t.h.i.s. (minus the drawing thing)

DD has developed this fake whine/cry and does it all the time.

  • Oh, yeah with Mia it was "use your words" now it's "don't talk to me like that" :-| Lord help me when she becomes a teenager.
  • Thought of two more as I used them numerous times this evening...

    "Let's not x,y,z..."

    "We don't x,y,z..."

Ugh.  I never wanted to be a "we" parent.  It feels like I'm referring to myself in the 3rd person.

  • these are hi.lari.ous.

here are a few of mine:

    "Stinky Boy!"  and   "Farty McTootsAlot"

    "where are you going rolley-polley?"

"please don't grab that (dirty diaper) ICKY!"

"don't touch your penis" b/c then he will teetee everywhere (new development)

  • "one.... two .... three"  - only punishment that works

"You are not a dog.  You are a boy.  Boys don't..." and then fill in the rest of the sentence with things like "lick people", "bite people", "eat off the floor" "drink out of the water bowl", "put dog toys in their mouths" - whichever thing he is doing at the moment to imitate the dog

  • oh my god these crack me up.
  • Y'all are making me laugh so hard!

Aside from the "You're such a sweet boy" and "You're so cute!" I've found myself saying, "You're alright" or "You're fine" a lot lately. He's gotten into this mommy phase where it's the end of the world if I'm not holding him - DH can't, my parents can't...I can't even set him down to pee! So I go into the bathroom, set him in the bouncy and tell him he's okay the entire two minutes it takes me to pee ;)

  • A long, sad, exasperated "Baby Giiiiirrrrrlllll" For when I find that she's pulled an entire container of wipes out of the package and onto the floor while I was in the bathroom puking. etc etc etc.

I'm trying not to giggle, because I know my day's coming soon...these are cute though!

    And Happy Bday, Harper!

  • Oh, we STILL use the "use your words" sometimes.  I HATE the fake whiny/crying!  UGH!  I was hoping it would be a short phase, but we are going on over a year of it. Tongue Tied  It is better, but she still does it.

Let's see here are some of our daily ones:

    "one...two...three"

"do you need to sit in the naughty chair" (time out)

"be gentle" (referring to dogs or joshua)

"do not talk to me like that"  (she is quite the sass these days!)

"no, "seriously" is not an adult word"
