Max is almost 6 months, and has already cut his first tooth. It's been way too long to remember what I was feeding Alex at this age. Right now he's getting 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is usually cereal and a fruit, dinner is either veggies/fruit or whatever food I have made for him for the week, this week its been a home made veggie stew.
I'm looking for other ideas for those meals. Anyone remember what they were feeding their kiddies at this age? Thanks for the ideas for Alex, so far he just keeps demanding ham and cheese roll ups for lunch, do when that gets old, you gave me lots of ideas to fall back on!
Re: This time its food for Max...
At that age I used to mainly blend what you are already doing for Max (veggie stew and later with meat). ?We used to do different kind of beans blended with meat or chicken. Diego loved malanga with milk ( a little bit to soften the malanga) with a piece of filet mignon blended with it. Chicken soup pureed as well. Any kind of soup really. He loved plantain soup.?
?I miss those days. Now he doesn't eat anything.??
Nadia gets a stage two Earth's Best or Gerber for lunch (veggies and meat) with a fruit for desert.
Then for dinner she has a puree (is that how you spell it) made by her abuelita. It has either chicken, turkey or beef, with veggies. Funny thing is she likes the store bottled baby food more then the home made stuff! ;-/
I cant' believe you guys are too lazy to do breakfast!!! I love doing breakfast with Zachary even if I am crazy freaking tired (and I run my own business!!! lol). We do oatmeal and a fruit and he absolutely loves it. I warm up the oatmeal and the fruit and it's like pie filling. Yummm!
Then we watch the Today Show or Good Morning America for another hour til he's ready to nap and THEN finally around 9 or 9:30 I get to shower and start doing work for my day.
Have breakfast with your baby!!!!!

Karen, I'm not starving her! LOL! I put her bottle to warm while I change her diaper and then feed and cuddle her in my bed or in the glider in her room. I am just too sleepy to sit her in her highchair and all that first thing in the morning so I decided breakfast will be the last meal I introduce. Don't worry- she'll get breakfast eventually! :-)
We never did breakfast and so far we are doing great. Even now the first thing Diego gets its a bottle of milk while watching the Disney Shows....lol
Oh..and Nadia will probably get milk first and then?breakfast?since you work outside of home right? or is your MIL coming to your house in the morning....I missed that part.?
Your grandma is right. I dind't eat black beans or red beans (even though they have never given me any problems) in the early weeks but I just started eating a bit to?introduce it some how to her in the BM and so far so good. I am still BF and eat whatever I want. I am blessed that my kids have not had colic but I still played it safe at the?beginning?you know?
I never did Black or Red as our first beans for the same reason but we did chicharo (green peas), garbanzos, lentejas (which are a great source of fiber and don't cause gas) and judias (white beans) later on we did the black and red close to a year when their stomachs are more develop and by then Diego was eating a lot of our own food. I am sorry I don't?know?the names of the other beans in English.?
LOL! Of *course* I know you're not starving her! Nadia eats JUST as well as Mr. Zachary does. LOL!! Even if she does just have a bottle for breakfast. Heheh.
I'm just saying, breakfast is fun. Even when I'm grouchy in the morning and haven't had my coffee yet, it totally makes my day brighter just to see that cute little mouth opening up excitedly like a little birdie waiting for his oatmeal and fruit. Soooo adorable!
