Is it normal?

I am not very far along.  I have had the normal cramping but also some specific cramping only one one side.  I called the doctor and she said that it is normal and that it could just be from implantation.  I'm still worried.  It's on my back too but only one side.  If it was ectopic wouldn't it hurt really bad?  This is just uncomfortable.

TIA

  •  I don't think if it was ectopic you would find out it hurt until much later....

  • I've had this too, almost nonstop for 3 weeks. Mostly it is mild AF like cramps across my entire lower abdomen, annoying but not really that painful. But every so often I will get a stabbing pain in my right side. No spotting though, so I haven't called the doc yet. I'm wondering what others say...

  • I was told that the cramps to worry about would be more painful and last a lot longer.  Like they wouldn't go away.  Good luck and don't stress yourself out :)

  • So you are saying to assume that all is well?

    Yes assume all is well.

  • Ectopic pain would be a little later and it would generally be pretty bad.

Listen to your doctor on this one.  You might just be constipated.

You could have a little corpus luteum cyst, which hurts a little on one side, but is harmless and will go away eventually.

I believe ectopics are usually quite painful and you'd probably have pain down your leg as well. If your doc wasn't concerned about this, I would rest easy.

  • Well I have had trouble with my gallbladder while I have been pg. Its on your right side and it can hurt in your back and shoulders too. It is not fun at all. Try to stay away from greasy foods and see if that helps the pain go away. If you have any questions let me know! Good luck

  • I was having some cramping on my right side around 4 weeks as well and it went away.  I think that cramping is normal, but of course it makes us nervous.  I've never been pregnnat before but my sister had an ectopic and she was in a ton of pain on one side and also spotting and really sick (Vomitting).  So, just watch it, if it goes away I think it's normal.
