What a ride! Jackson is here!

We had our 40 week appointment yesterday at about 2:00 and Dr. Seeker decided to send us up to L&D b/c I was leaking amniotic fluid and he could not be sure how long I had been leaking (we actually went into the hosptial for that on Saturday, but were sent home).  I was 90% effaced and 3 cm.  He ordered pitocin.  I got into the hospital bed at 3:30, and at 4:00 exactly, my water broke on its own and contractions were about 6 minutes apart.  At 5:45 they started the pitocin and soon I decided that I needed an epidural.  They finally got the epidural in at 6:45 and the nurse did a check and said I was at 5 cm, so we could expect to deliver between 12 and midnight, so I should try to take a nap.  I was excited about the nap part, so I tried to relax while the epi kicked in.

In less than 30 minutes, I told DH to get the nurse and stay out of the room.  My mom was in there and I told the nurse that I knew I couldn't get up, but I was about to poop no matter what.  She checked and said, "no, you are just ready to push!"  I couldn't believe it!!  It took 5 pushes and he was out at 7:49.

He is perfect and we are both doing well.  I'll post more later, the little man is hungry, again!
