NPR: Facebook "People You Might Know" Question

dpdwdpdw member

I find this so odd.  My former landlord (from 2 years ago) popped up as a person I might know.  We have no friends in common, in fact he has only one friend.  I don't have my address on FB.  How the hell did FB make the connection??

  • Do you live in the same city still and have the same network?  Sometimes it will suggest random people for me just because they're in Boulder.

We don't live in the same city, but we are in the same major metro area.  It doesn't appear that he's set up his network, but his one friend is in the same network as me -- but it's "Washington, DC" which is a pretty broad network.

    It's kinda bizarre.

  • I posted below about this.  My aunt poped up on mine and none of my friends are hers.  but a few of my friends live in her town and we went to the same high school
