Starting CD w/ 15 month old - need advice pls!

I'm sorry - this question is probably asked a lot, but I couldn't find an old post referencing it so am asking anyway . . .

I had a set of Fuzzibunz for DS when he was born. We used them a couple times but then got sucked into the disposables and, by the time we were ready to start CDing, the Fuzzibunz were too small.

Now he's almost 15 months and we'd really like to start to CD.

I'd love recommendations on how many and what kind of CD you would suggest to buy for a toddler (circa 28lbs -  going much longer between diaper changes than he was when we bought that initial set of Fuzzibunz and usually only 1 BM/day) and his novice CD parents.

 TIA!

  • We started CD when my son was 15 months too.  Our favorite daytime diapers are the Happy Heiny onesize.  For overnights we use BG and Blueberry, and I have a mix of some other diapers as well, Haute Pockets, FB, and some WAHM diapers too.  We have about 18-20, and with an older baby I find this is plenty.  I hope this helps!!

  • I started using cloth when DS was 12 months.  He is now almost 16 months.  I use prefolds and Thirsties covers at home during the day ( most economical for us)  I use premium infant sized that go to 30lbs.  You would want to get toddler ones since your DC is bigger.  I use a toddler snappi too.  I like BG one size for night time.  I have a variety of others that I use too.  But the above are my faves.  I also have about 25 diapers and wash every 3 days.
  • Thanks for the advice!! I look forward to trying them out!!!
