Registry Completion. Someone fill me in please?

So, we're registered at BRU and Target. ?I've heard something about changing your due date with BRU because their timing is screwy? ?What's that about? ?Also, what % discount do they each offer? ?And, just so I know, if I end up with duplicates of things or not needing things that I thought I would need, what about returns? ?Do both stores have sheisty return policies?

Thanks! ?:)?

Re: Registry Completion. Someone fill me in please?

  • BRU doesn't send out their completion coupon until after your due date. ?If you change your due date, you'll get the coupon early and can buy what you need before the baby arrives. ?I think the discount is 10%.

I've heard that Target doesn't always automatically send out the completion coupon, so I called them and they sent it to me right away.

I know that both stores have made some changes to their return policies since I registered with Evie, so I'm not sure what they are now. ?BRU didn't give me a hassle and Target was a gigantic pain.

  • Not sure about Target, but BRU sent me my completion coupon the week before my due date. It was 10% off.

  • I asked for the completion coupon at the Tacoma BRU because I didn't want to wait that long, and they gave it to me with no issues. I just had to use it THAT day.

  • BRU requires that you have a receipt or they can look it up under your phone number and credit card - but I haven't had luck with them finding things that way.   If you don't have a gift receipt, even if they bought it off your registry, I've heard you're just out of luck with them.

Target will give you a limited number of no receipt returns.   They *might* be able to deal with it if it's off your registry though.   Next time you're there, you might ask at customer service.

This is a good reason to ALWAYS give a gift receipt.

  • on what Jill said..... the lady at the registry desk at the Alderwood BRU said that if something is not marked off the registry, to just give them a call and they can mark it off that way you don't have a problem with returns.  (vs just going online and updating the status yourself)

As far as Target..... I got a few things that I did not register for and wanted to exchange for other stuff.  (We got Pooh stuff and we are not baby Pooh people)  I just added them to my registry online, then checked them as purchased online too.  WHen I went to return them, they did it without a receipt with no problems.  Also, with Target, I had something I bought online myself, then went to return it afterall.  I did not bring the receipt in thinking they could look it up via my card.  WHat came up was like $10 less than what I actually paid!  I argued since I had bought it myself and knew the price, and we went to the registry printout, since it WAS on there and sure enough, they were able to see what I paid and got the full refund.
