LOL. It was actually really beautiful. The minute I got there I got all teary eyed because my FMIL and her family worked so hard. The only complaints/things I would change is:
1. I wore heels and when we got there, I walked around to all the tables to say hello and then started dancing. By the time I finally sat down, I thought my toes were going to shoot out of my shoes. Luckily I had flats in the car and was able to change. I'm paying for those heels today though. Seriously, its time to give it up.
2. We started way too late. It started at 7, people didn't get there till 8, and everyone was dancing until about 10 when they realized there's food. I didn't open gifts until 11:45 and didn't get home until 3! I was so exhausted and my body was on fire.
When we were opening gifts I was on a "high" from the evening that I didn't even notice what was purchased off of the registry and what wasn't. I went through everything today to write thank you cards and we got a few things off of the registry but my favs were all the clothes. Seriously, girl clothes are the bestest. My PSA though is that if you haven't registered for the Huggies Newborn kit, you should. I thought it wasn't necessary but really glad I got it. It comes with diapers, 64 wipes, 32 soft wipes, soap, lotion, diaper rash ointment, 20 washclothes, 8 changing pads and a basket. It's a great gift for $30.
Oh and people who buy you diapers are awesome.
Re: My shower wasn't as tacky as I thought...
Sounds like a lot of fun! I agree about the girly clothes, they're so freaken cute.
They look like pork links. I have some serious cankle issues. Never again. I tried to sexify my outfit with the shoes. I don't know what I was thinking.
Do you have any epsom salts? Do a foot bath and then get those puppies in an upright position. Down a gallon of water and watch your salt intake. I'm still traumatized by Lils' cankles. I had a minor bit of swelling in the side pockets of my feet two weeks ago and I totally nipped that in the bud swiftly and with great success.?
I just yelled out to FI "babe get me some epsom salts please...and some icecream"
Sounds great! I am so impressed that you could hang until 3 a.m.!
Also, why did you think it was going to be tacky?
