I just wanted to share my birth story for those interested. I'll be brief!
We went into the hospital at 7a for our scheduled induction. I was already 5cm, 80% effaced. The induction was scheduled since I had a quick birth (5 hours) with my first, lived an hour away, and was already so far dilated. They immediately broke my water and I was having regular contraction 2-4 min apart that I didn't really feel. At 7:30 they start pitocin to get things going. The contractions became stronger, by 8a they were getting hard to breath through. All of the sudden around 8:30 I got the urge to push and the nurse came in. 10cm dilated, 100% effaced, 2+ station. He was coming. They called for doctors, and I kept having contractions that I tried not to push through but I ended up pushing a little anyways. The doctor arrived right as he started to crown. I gave 2 more pushes and out he came. Arriving at 8:52. 7lbs, 2 oz, 20 inches. I had no pain meds, no episitomy, no tears. I'm now home and feel awesome! I'm so happy this all went so well for me and hope it's a little inspiration for others who want to go without the epi but may have an induction. It is possible! It does hurt, but the second the baby arrives it feels awesome and all the pain is gone!
Re: short induction, med-free birth story
