FI watched some birth videos...

the real ones! not the ones they showed us in birthing class when you breath twice, push once and out pops a kid. I'm so happy he did too, because he kept saying he really wanted me to try and go natural until it was absolutely unbearable, but after seeing that he said he wouldn't be disappointed at all if i had an epi first thing if it's offered. jokes on him though, because although i value his opinion,  my plan was always to take the epi when i see fesable, not him! still glad he is interested though!

    hmmm the one's we saw in class were pretty long and detailed. Although they didn't show what happens after the baby is born so when we discussed a home birth and the midwife recommended a few plastic drop sheets he told me he didn't understand why. I had to explain how much blood there could be to him. :)

    DH and I have been watching birthing videos alot.  He has been learning techniques to calm me during labor.  My plan is to go natural as long as I can.

    i think i saw a more detailed video in sex ed in 6th grade than they showed us in birthing class! i was a little disappointed because i really want FI to know what he's REALLY going to be witnessing.

    that's just him. he wasn't really educated on the whole experience until now.  and thought that because his mom went all natural anyone could and should. i don't think he really understood the pain we go through. so i asked out Doc what she thought and she said to go in it with an open mind and don't say you are all for either way because you'll disapoint yourself becasue you don't know what to expect. and after seeing the videos and seeing what goes on for real, he knows there's more than just what we saw on the first videos..which was push breath baby. he also said he couldn't handle seeing me in that pain.

    The videos we saw in class were very real, and we had to sit through 3 of them! ?Afterwards DH told me to get the epi, he would hate to see me in such pain. ?The plan is to go as long as possible without it, so we'll see.
