3rd Trimester

I don't think my friends understand. They think that..

Since I am being induced early Tuesday morning, that I will have him THAT day.

I could be in labor for 3 days.

I got a message from a friend "That works for me, Matt and I have our cake tasting at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon"

I am glad to know that my induction is convienent for you.

Please. Don't even speak that into existence!

  • UGH...people have been telling me what their schedules are for the week and when going into labor would be conveniant for THEM.

I tell them that I will have this baby whenever it happens.

    Stupid people.

  • "That works for me"??????  Wow..., just, wow.

  • your friend's response seriously made me LOL.  as if you purposely scheduled your induction so that it worked into her schedule.  yikes...she must really like herself.

    i agree - people don't understand.

  • This is the same friend who got mad for FI and I leaving a wedding early a few weeks ago, I was feeling like shiit - it wasn't her wedding and she ignored us the whole time.

The next weekend I was in the hospital with my liver and then the weekend after that, well, you know where I am...

    She's a peach.

  • ha!  thats familiar- my brother actually called me yesterday and asked if i thought i was going to go into labor memorial weekend because they wanted to go out of town... i seriously swore at him and hung up the phone... especially because he and his wife had a baby last year!

these should be the reasons you tell her BUH BYE! haha

  • She's normally a decent individual but, she's become a bit of a bridezilla. There are 3 of us getting married this year (including the wedding I spoke of) and she's become deranged with all the festivites.

It's okay. I know this will pass. I generally avoid her.

  • 3 days no way i think you at least will get lucky and maybe get only 24 hours lol i hope so after all you have been through.

My friends and family don't get it either. I am being induced for medical reasons and I keep being asked what time I'm having the baby.
  • I think its funny that you said that considering our doctor told us that LO only has to stay in until next Thursday (due to being hospitalized for preterm contractions) and all of a sudden everyone is asking us to keep them posted on what is happening on Thursday. They dont understand that it doesnt mean he will come on Thursday!
  • a) No way will you have a 3-day labor, with all the dust your nesties will be sending your way.

    b) My MOTHER has been giving me the entire rundown of her May/June schedule, including showers, weddings, and my dad's work commitments, and has told me which days would be best for me to have the baby.

The woman gave birth 3 times. You'd think she'd know how these things work by now. Babies can't read calendars, Mom.?

  • You'll love this one...DS was due on a Fri before memorial day w/e 2yrs ago. SIL called DH and asked if I didn't go into labor before my due date if I could ask dr to induce me that Fri to make it convenient for his family to be here for the delivery (they live 4 hrs away) since it would be over a long w/e. I still to this day cannot believe she had the nerve to have that come out of her mouth....she has had 2 kids btw. wtf is wrong with people??
  • My mom keeps saying "be sure to have the baby before I have to go back to school!" (She's a teacher.) And everytime she mentions this, I just think "Sure, I'll be sure to tell the baby that your schedule is tight."

    I don't now what she's thinking honestly.

  • You will not have a 3-day induction. No hospital or doctor would keep you on pitocen that long. If it fails, they'll wait a day or two and try again. But, I get where you're coming from! When you first announce a pregnancy, everyone tells you "Ooh! Have it on this day--it's my birthday/anniversary/etc." Towards the end, they tell you, "Don't have it on this day...I'm doing_____". Thanks for the concern, jerks!
