What kind are you getting/ did you get? I'm thinking about getting the playtex drop ins. ?Also debated about the ventair. Any thoughts?

  • We got the Born Free.  I know a few people that have used them and are happy with them.  And the baby nurse that is coming to stay with us also recommended them.  So we'll see.

  • At my shower people got me a mix. I got some of the ventaire, some drop-ins, some soothie bottles, etc. You never know what baby will take too.
  • im gonna try 3 differentr kinds and see which ones work (because i hear that in the end the baby decides) i have narrowed it down to: Dr. Browns, playtex drop ins and the avent something or others
  • Dr. Browns.  I've had a lot of friends recommend them.

  • I have about 6 different kinds, all were free samples I have collected. I also have an unopened Playtex drop ins gift set. I am guessing I will try them all and see what the baby likes best!

I am hoping for the drop ins.....less parts to wash.

Even the Born Free has the odd insert thing, and Avent is not my favorite due to leaks if the top is screwed on too tight.

    ditto

  • I bought the Breastflow ones this time.  My other 2 kids weren't picky at all so I am hoping this one isn't either.  I used Avent with my other 2.
  • I'm planning on breastfeeding however, I might also pump. ?The bottles will be for when I pump or later when I stop breastfeeding and return to work.

  • Most defiantly Avent BPA free.

  • I have Dr. Brown's(lactation consultant rec.), Playtex and Prince Lionheart we'll have to try them out to see what works.
  • I use the Avent Tempo disposables.

Both of my DDs would only take the Avent nipple.  I wanted to use the disposables, but they refused them.  Thankfully, about a month after my DD was born, Avent came out with the disposables!

I hope #3 is the same.  I still have a few others around the house - Dr. Brown's, Playtex, etc.  My DDs refused all of them but the Avent.

  • I also plan on BF'ing (and going back to work) but we got some Avent BPA free.  With DS we used DrBrowns for the first 5 months and then switched to Avent.  Both worked great but Avent bottles are easier to clean. We may buy Dr Browns if DD has gas problems.

Ventaire.  I started DD off with Soothies (I got a lot from a neighbor) but she never really took to them, switched to Nuks and those were okay but didn't help her gas issues.  Avent have the leaking issue if you overtighten at all so didn't mess with those or the Dr. Brown's with the small parts to clean.  Tried the Playtex Drop-Ins but just wasn't a fan and ended up with ventaire adn had great success there.  Oh and DD was BF and there was never nipple confusion.  If you plan to BF, just make sure you stick with a widemouth nipple regardless of what you eventually go with.

We use drop-ins and will not be using them for our next DC, I am stick of buying the liners and hate to think of them piling up in the landfill.  If you do got with drop-ins the Target brand liners are just as good as Playtex.

  • ive used ventair for both my kids.. love em. bottles this go around is my motavation to BF it seems like so many new kinds!
  • Get a few different types and see what you and baby like.

Don't buy a ton of one brand only to find you and baby hate them.

  • Playtex nurser with the drop ins...that is what DS liked best, so that is what I am going to start with after ebf for a few weeks.  Unless the baby is a preemie and they recommend something else.
