I'm seeing a psychic tomorrow--what should I expect??

It's a 'psychic party'....a girlfriend of mine has seen this psychic 4x and it's AMAZING what this woman can pick up....creepy really.

It's my first time. Not sure what to expect and a bit freaked out by it in a way.

I kind of want to know when she sees me having another baby....what my career looks like (I'd love to be a SAHM or start my own business or BOTH). Would love to know about family (my parents mainly). Husbands work.

So what has been your experience with one. Any advice?

The key is to not give her any "clues". They are experts at picking up on body language and subtle facial signals. Put on your poker face, and as she is telling you stuff, just say "uh huh, OK" that type of thing. Once they know what you are looking for, they go in for the kill. lol

(this was covered in a psych class I took)

I was going to reply with "You should expect to see your money disappear before your eyes." ...but you beat me to the punch.

THEN AGAIN a psychic did once tell me that I would get pregnant right away and have a baby within my first year of marriage. I told her she was full of shit_.

...then I got pregnant right away and had a baby a couple weeks before our first anniversary on an accident. Coincidence? who knows...

what kind of reading does she do? I've had my tarot read and my friend called to have her astrological chart read just this week (she really liked it).

I think in order for you to feel like something is being predicted, you can't give in to cold reading tactics. For example, if she says "i'm seeing a name..starts with an S" don't shout "ZOMG THATS MY AUNT'S BFFS COUSINS NAME!" make her work. Let the predictions come to you and don't help her out. Also don't read into generic things. My friend's reader said "oh I see a life altering change for you in December" and my friend said "that's when we may get married!" and then the reader said "with this marriage you as a couple will turn inwards and be with each other. your friends won't understand, but it isn't that you don't like them...etc". Well yeah, lady its called a honeymoon phase. Sheesh.

Bottom line: its good fun, but dont' take too much stock in what's being said. You need to really analyze how specific she's being without you giving her clues. and don't go first. watch your friends and see if she's cold-reading them. have fun!

Sounds like fun!
I have an old neighbor that had pyschic powers.
Me and my sister went to see her once, and she really knew nothing about either one of us because we just moved in.
She knew: when I'd get married, the season my son would be born, that my first born would be a boy, that my brother was going to come out of the closet (and he did later that year), and that my dad was hiding a heart condition because he didn't want to worry us.
I went to her back in 2003, and I have no idea how she new all this stuff, but all of it came true so far.

No worries--I won't be all serious about it--it's more of what will they come up with--ya know? Although--she picked up that my friend had lost a baby mid-term--and that her marriage was breaking up (which isn't unusual I guess after something like that).

and a few other things that were like "woah!"

For realz, it's all fun and games. Expect to lose your money and be mildly entertained as she uses cold-reading tactics to convince you she knows something you didn't already tell her or she couldn't easily imply from what you told her. Life-altering predictions... notsomuch.
