    Backstory on the "waste of space/off himself" comment.

    I have a friend who is also pregnant, IRL.  Her ex-boyfriend (baby's father) has gone back and forth between wanting to be involved and not wanting to be involved with the baby's life. 

    He is a drama king and has some drug problems, and calls her about once a month telling her that he knows he's a "loser", "waste of space", and plans to "off himself". 

    She called me last night sobbing that he had contacted her again with these comments.  It's not that I don't take suicide seriously, but this person has made the threat ad nauseum.  (She rarely takes the threat seriously anymore, because he says it every couple weeks).  Usually I tell her that he needs help (therapy), and she should refer him to resources that can help him with his emotional problems.

    Anyway, I should have selected something else for my random sentence...  My intention was not to offend anyone.  I'm sorry.
