Just wondering if I could get some feedback from those of you who have ordered and have baby furniture from Jc Penny?
We finally started to look today... I was less than impressed with Babies R Us and Baby depot.
I really like the look of a couple of sets online JcPenny (the Olivia and the Hartford) but there is not one remotely close to us, and I'm not sure about ordering without seeing it in person..... but I'd love to know if you have it, what you think about the quality?
How expensive is delivery??? TIA
Re: JC Penny baby furniture Q's
We have the Hartford furniture (see my blog for pics - just click on the tag of nursery and/or nursery furniture, I have a few dif posts w/ it).
They don't carry it in the store anyway, so it's online or nothing. I heard good reviews so we took a chance. So far, I am really happy with it. I am changing out the knobs though I think to something more unique, not sure what yet.
We had it delivered to the store and picked it up and it was really reasonable without one, but I found a free shipping code online from someone (google them, I'm sure you can find a current one).
HTH!
Yes that does help, thankyou. Do you know if you can order it to a JC Penny store for pick up that doesn't carry furniture? Thanks!
yes you can...that's what we just did!
You can have the furniture delivered to a store that doesn't carry furniture - we just picked up our last piece last weekend. We saved about 150 picking it up ourselves.
Quality is pretty good and we are really happy with it, although we've only put together the crib. Or should I say, my DH put together the crib. It took him about 30 to 45 minutes. We actually ordered the Cottage set by Rockland (?) which happens to be one of the cheapest sets. i didn't do that on purpose we just really liked the way it looked. The crib was 218. and the dressers were less. I did hit a sale and use a coupon from a promo code I found online. It really is pretty in person.
GL!
yup i think we go the same one. i ended up getting free shipping?because?i work there but also saved an additional 20% for being an employee and i cant wait to see it. it was on sale for a great price?
My DH and I really liked the Rockland Hartford Collection. We finally decided to go for it and sent our requests to the MIL, since she wanted to buy it for us! It got to our local JCP store within 2 weeks. We also used the shipping coupon and it saved them a bundle.
My DH put it together that same weekend and it looks great.! The hardware is exposed, which is the main complaint on the reviews, but they're not so bad that it ruins the furniture. We went for the Cherry color. You can see the crib on my siggy with my belly shot. We also purchased the dresser which came with a changer on top. We didn't have much room in the nursery so we felt that was the necessities we needed.GL!
PS. I liked JCM's idea regarding the knob changes, that would really spice up the look.
We purchased the Olivia in espresso. So far it is great, easy to put together, sturdy, and real wood. I wouldn't hesitate to order another or recommend it to anyone. We had our shipped to the store and had a few different codes, one came out a little cheaper overall and went with it. I wouldn't have had the crib shipped to our home, it would have been too expensive.
I can take detailed pictures of the crib if you like, just let me know!

My friend ordered her baby furniture from JCP they had it delivered to the store and picked it up. They had a lot of problems with JCP they kept having to send the dresser back because of damage to it. They eventually had them just deliver it to the house, but they gave them four chances to get it right....four dressers delivered to them over a period of maybe a month and all of them were damaged, not just a little bit but really damaged. It was an expensive set too it wasnt cheep furniture. They finally said forget it and returned everything and ordered from somewhere else.
I got my set at babydepot and have had no problems.
