Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Just got back from movies with my 8wo!

We went to see Ghosts of GFs Past, it was cute! We met a couple of friends at the 12:10 showing. I walk in with C at 11:50 to make sure we have time to get settled before the movie. There were 2 other couples in there, and one was an older couple. They started "whispering" and talked about how they were going to go get the manager when the baby acts up. I was angry! C was great! She slept through the first third (was sound asleep by the end of the previews), ate her bottle the second third, and dozed in and out during the end. I was so proud! I wanted to rub their noses in it at the end, but I had to pee really badly, so I bolted out of there while my friends hung on to her. What a big girl, Charlotte!!

Wow, that is great - DS would never make it through a movie without crying and pissing people off!

  • That is AWESOME. I've thought about doing that with Chloe, and one of the theaters here actually does have a time on Wednesday AMs where you can take infants, but I admit - I have worried somebody else's kid would cry through the whole thing!

  • Good for you! I was recently reading in a magazine a list of things to do with your newborn....And go to a movie made the list! It suggested a matinee around naptime.....I was too chicken to try it. But that's awesome:)
  • JMO but I dont think a movie theatre is a place for a baby even if she does sleep through the whole thing.  It is way too loud.
someecards.com - I love the sound you make when you shut up. Lilypie Fifth Birthday tickers Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Old theater, not great sound, problem solved!

  • I couldn't do this even if I wanted to.  My boy is so unpredictable and could "explode" at any minute!
  • Just the thought of taking my 8 week old DS to the movies makes me nervous (that he would fuss and bother people). ?Good for you for taking the plunge and good for your LO for behaving :)

DS made it through Star Trek this weekend without any problems, but I found it way too stressful to do it again. He had baby safe ear plugs, but I was still worried about how loud the movie was, and all the what ifs. Next time we are going to go to the crybaby matinee, so I can relax.
