    Baby shower. I hate generic themes, and I don't like the storks and baby carriages that often are thrown around everywhere at those parties. I'm a much bigger fan of just simple, tasteful decorations that don't scream BABY. If the pregnant woman doesn't give away the point of the event, nothing will.?

    Ditto.  I hate the "pink" and "blue" themes. Barffff.  I'm just doing a very subtle rubber ducky theme but it's not like I'm going to have balloons, streamers, sparklies, and all that in rubber ducky.  The invitation has a simple duck on it, I'm making chocolate from a rubber ducky mold as the favors, and the centerpiece will be a bowl of water with rubber duckys in it. Each ducky will have a number on the bottom (in Sharpie marker) and each number will present the order for a small prize that each person can take home. That's it.

    Any theme that involves crepe (sp?) paper and plastic stuff.

    Anything "for the baby" when there will be no babies there to enjoy it:  dinosaurs, pirates, monkeys, pink, blue, ladybugs, etc.

    Just my opinion but, a shower is for the people having the baby! NOT for the baby itself. 
    And if I want a late afternoon jazz party with fried chicken, that's what I'm having.... and that's what my friends are most likely to enjoy. My friends are coming to celebrate me and DH and be excited with us. The baby will have no recollection of the shower, what so ever.

    Storks?and pick and blue?balloons?every where would be the worst to me. ?
