Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Getting pg again, easier or harder?

If you are pg with #2 or more or have more than one kiddo:

Did it take you more or less time to get pg the second time around? TIA!

Re: Getting pg again, easier or harder?

  • A LOT less time for us.  It took 21 months to conceive DS1.  I got pg with DS2 on cycle #2.

  • Much easier! I didn't take BC after DD was born and said "whatever happens, happens". I got pg with DS when DD was 7 months old (and I was still breastfeeding).
  • Easier-- 3 months with DS, first try with #2.

  • good question! I am hoping it happens as easily as with Alaina because I really hope for another summer baby!!
  • For our first we just let things happen and I was off BC for a year and a half before I got pg. We weren't actively trying.  I also have endo so that might make a difference. For DD we tried for 6 months.
  • marking for later.  I'm also curious.  It took 3 months TTC for # 1, now we are on to 2nd month TTC for #2.

  • DD - 2 cycles

D? - 3 cycles (one of which was a chemical pg)

  • DS-4 cycles (but 6 months, b/c cycles were REALLY long coming off the pill)

    DC #2 - 1st cycle after weaning.

it took us less - 7 cycles the 1st time and got a BFP the 1st try with the second.  I am an "older" mom and my OB started fertility testing after 6 months with no success.  The month I got my BFP we found out that my thryroid levels were way off and I started on medication that I will be on forever the day I got my BFP.  We think it was related as my cycles were way off and since I have been on the meds, they are like clockwork every 29 days.  My girls are 21 months apart and we were aiming for 2 years so we did pretty well - we had figured it would take at least a few months the second time around.

  • much easier.

We TTC for 5 months for DD (typical, I know). I had long irregular cycles and we used OPKs, charted, PreSeed...

This time it happened the first time we didn't prevent (figured we'd see what happened and if it hadn't happened by May we're be more "active" in trying, like w/ DD..)

    CP 3/07
    BFP 5/07 - Kylie born 2/08.       BPF 2/09 - Alexandra born 10/09.
TTC since 8/13 - diagnosed difficulty conceiving due to LP defect. Took vitamin B and Vitex Berry to help lengthen.
BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy.
    BFP 11/14
  • Less time.  DD#1 it took 5 cycles, DC#2 -- pg after trying for one month (and I'm still BFing, and had only gotten AF once right before getting pg).

TTC# 1 took 12 cycles (no meds or treatment)

    TTC# 2 - it's been 5 cycles and still counting!

    I have very regular periods.

  • Dont know if this helps...

  • The same- both times it was the first month that we stopped using birth control.
  • The same.

    DD - honeymoon baby

DC #2 - we were not "trying" but not preventing.  We were going to actively try when DD was 9 months but got pg when she was 7 months.
