What is the deal with peanut butter?

Ok... So I am confused (shocking)... What is the deal with peanut butter? Can we eat it? I would hate to think my life would be peanut butterless.... :(

Re: What is the deal with peanut butter?

  • I am following NZSFA guidelines, which state that peanut butter is fine to eat. Mmmmm peanut butter in celery sticks.

  • yes, you can eat peanut butter!  I eat it all the time! But, if you have any family history of nut allergies, it is suggested that you avoid it.
  • I sure hope so. I eat it every single day and could not give it up!
  • This is a new one to me, I never heard that we should steer clear of peanut butter. I've eaten it a few times and will continue to do so unless my doc says otherwise.

This is what I have heard. I've been eating it, but in moderation.

  • For those who love peanut butter, I have a fantastic peanut butter fudge recipe!

    I prefer apples and PB!

  • Peanut butter is a good source of protien for those of us who can't even look at meat...
  • I think maybe there is some concern because of the salmonella recalls.  I included a link to the FDA: https://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/Salmonellatyph.html

I can't give up peanut butter either!  I think we just have to be safe, just like we are with everything else.  :)

  • Yes... enjoy your peanut butter!
