Is it possible to smell amniotic fluid w/out the leak?

I know it might sound silly but geesh,my va-jay-jay has this whole different scent to it, It smells salty, and its there when I wipe after using the bathroom. But there is not a noticeable amount of liquid.

Are you sure you're not just smelling regular discharge?

My discharge has smelled different since being pregnant; yours could be different too.

If it smells like bleach or semen it's just discharge.

I'm pretty sure amniotic fluid does not smell. That is the discernable thing about amniotic fluid vs. regular discharge or semen.

Amniotic DOES smell - it's very sweet apparently and distinctly different to urine or discharge. Noticeably so, I have been forewarned by several nurse friends.
