Re: greek mythology names?

  • I have friends that went with Clydie....(Ithink she's the one that fell in love with the sun dude and she was a sunflower or something and that's why sunflowers always follow the sun).

  • I worked with an Aphrodite Venus Xaiver <last name>. Not in that context I don't.

I just can't think of any I would ever use.

  • I love the name Maia.

  • I just decided on Elena which is the Spanish version of Helen.

i like odysseus (odie) and kind of like persephone.

i prefer the latin names to the greek, though.

i just think the latin spellings are more easily pronounced.

  • Helen, Gaia (I believe this was the mythology name for Mother Earth)...but the rest...like Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo, Poseidon, Dionysius (sp?), Ares, Hades, Zeus, Hera, Odysseus, Persephone, etc. are just toooooo mythological to use these days.

Cassandra was our girls name choice for DC #2.

    I also like Penelope. (Penny)?

  • I like calliope.
  • Penelope. Phaedra (my cousin is named this). Athena. Daphne.
  • Daphne, Ariadne, Athena, Penelope, Cassandra, Jason, Gaia, Rhea, Andromeda, Electra, Calliope, Clio, Thalia...
  • Penelope and Cassandra were on our short girl's list.

I really like Penelope but can't with our last name.

Cassandra is cute too.  I like Cassie as a NN but too similar sounding to mine - Kathy.

  • I think Persephone would be a really cute name if people would pronounce it right (like Stephanie instead of Percy-Phone).  Of course, then you'd be naming your child after the Queen of the Underworld, but in Persephone's case she didn't exactly WANT to be the Queen of the Underworld.
