s/o men's clothing/outfits

My DH is by no means a "fashionista," but he is SO picky about his clothes.  He will only wear ONE kind of jeans.  When he goes clothes shopping, he has to try everything on a zillion times to analyze everything.

Once at Target - it took him about 20 minutes to decide between a black or brown hooded sweatshirt... My goodness!

Re: s/o men's clothing/outfits

  • DH, on a normal day, is a tee-shirt and jeans guy. I buy most of his jeans, and he wears whatever as long as it fits.

But when it comes to work/nice clothes, he is SO picky. he will stare at a shirt for a half hour before deciding he wants it or not. I'm always pushing him along just saying BUY IT! but he has to be sure it will get its use.

  • I most definitely do not have that problem.  DH doesn't try clothes on at all unless I make him, and even then he whines and complains the entire time.  If I didn't buy it for him, or pick it out for him, it's Levi jeans, plaid button-ups, and blue or green tshirts.  I think it's because he spends so much time in uniform that he just doesn't care what he wears the other 10% of the time.

I also convinced him get brown boots with black soles so that it didn't matter if he wore brown or black everything else.  The poor man would never understand that at least your belt and shoes should be the same color.

  • Oh gawd.  When MH picks out work clothes, it is dreadful.  Takes FOREVER, but he loves it!  You should see some of his shirt/tie combos.

Yes, I am now convinced our DH's are twinsies. I have known him since 2002 and STILL cannot get this throug his head.

He asked me once why women have so many shoes, and I said it was so we would have at least one pair of each type that would match whatever we wore.  His response was to just get each type in either brown or black and that would match everything.  I have given up all hope.

It's like they don't understand the phrase: variety. DH will wear his tennis shoes until they are literally falling apart AND you can smell them across the room. While we were at the outlets, I took him to Nike, Reebock, Adidas, Vans, SO many places and he couldn't find anything he likes. Then we went to Target and he picked out these plain-ass white no-names for like $14 bucks. The way he wears them out, we can spend more on NICE shoes that may last. Between those and his black work shoes, that is all he wears, and his belt is definitely brown. And along with you, I have just given up.

  • My DH is the same way. And when he's not wearing suit for work he pretty much lives in jeans and tshirt or those zip off pants. And crocs, always crocs. Fuzzy ones in the winter, not fuzzy in the summer. I've tried to explain to him that crocs are not always appropriate but he just doesnt get it. He wore them with a suit to work one day (luckily his CWs talked him out of that combo again).
