Re: tummy sleeping = 10 straight hours of sleep!

  • Oh man, that would be heaven.  I'm too afraid to try him sleeping on his tummy as he hasn't rolled himself over yet.

  • I was thinking of trying this. How do you position their arms?
  • Thats awesome, congrats!! ?I just decided last week to let DD sleep on her tummy for naps b/c she would wake up and scream the moment I put her on her back in her crib. ?She slept for 3 hours the first time! ?It was wonderful. ?GL and lets hope the trend continues for your LO.
  • Sigh. I tried this and got a different result: tummy sleeping = several straight hours of screaming. I think I'm going to have to give up on ever getting 4 straight hours of sleep ever again.
  • Wow...10 hrs.! Heaven indeed =) I'm too paranoid of SIDS to let DS sleep on his tummy though.

dd naturally puts her arms up by her face so she can lift her head up and move it from side to side if she wants?

Ditto- our LO has been sleeping on her tummy for the past 2 weeks, and she sleeps SO much better.  She used to sleep for 45 minute stretches, and now is up to sleeping for 3 hour periods of time.  She has been able to pick up her head and move it back and forth from day 1, so I am not concerned with her ending up face down in the bed.  She currently sleeps in a moses basket next to our bed, but we just purchased the Angelcare monitor so that we can transition her to her crib, while allowing her to continue sleeping on her tummy.
