AW: I heard it! I heard it!

Bought a stethoscope and heard the baby's heartbeat! I can't seem to find it again (maybe he got annoyed with me prodding and moved) but it was totally awesome!

    Baby Henry moves away when I use the doppler.  I usually only do it long enough to hear his hb for about 15 seconds and then let him be.  I feel like I am bothering him.

    I just ran to my nursing bag to grab my stethoscope but couldn't hear it :(  I'll be trying again!

    I just went to Walgreens - it was $10.  It took me a long time to find him and hear it, and then after about 10 seconds he moved and I can't find it again.

    They also make special stethoscopes that are made to hear the HB.  I don't remember what they are called though.

    Thanks!  I tried all over my abdomen but can only hear my lunch digesting.  Not as special...

    Wow, really.  That is pretty cool.  DH has a stethoscope and we tried using it with DS and didn't hear anything.  I mentioned it in passing to my OB and she said that most professionals aren't even able to hear a heartbeat using one.  She said that is the case at least until you are far enough along to KNOW there is a baby in there.  She said if we heard anything it would probably be just gastrointestinal noise.
